Our Story

Good things come to those who wait

Natasha and Jeff first met on the dating app Coffee Meets Bagel. They matched at 7:32 am in California (9:32 pm in Bangkok). Thanks to CMB Premium's filters, Jeff appeared on Natasha’s “Suggested” tab (people who like you and fit all your criteria). She found him cute and clever, and his "Ideal Date" description fit her perfectly. She liked him back. Jeff, waking up to the best news of his life, was overjoyed but nervous— everything about Natasha seemed too good to be true. Wanting to make a perfect first impression, he spent 20 minutes crafting his opening message and finally sent it during regular business hours at 9:20 am. Natasha was impressed—finally, someone who had actually read her profile and written something thoughtful. She responded, and from that moment, the conversational floodgates were open. Despite being 8,000 miles apart, they messaged each other constantly—through the night, during work meetings (apologies to their respective employers), and in every spare moment. After a few video calls, they eagerly planned their first date for when Natasha returned to Los Angeles. At this point—although they'd not met in person yet—Natasha already knew that Jeff was the one for her. She had never felt such a strong connection and similarity with someone before, let alone feeling all of this before meeting in person. During this time, Natasha put in all the effort early to be sure. Asking the important questions and having the deep, difficult conversations before meeting someone in person is not common, but it was effortless with Jeff. When the day came, Jeff was more nervous than he'd ever been for a date. Natasha was eager and excited. Jeff didn't know that she had rearranged her entire schedule to see him first, and had blocked out several consecutive days for him in case the date went well. They had their first date at a cute, quaint French restaurant, closing the place down before moving to a nearby bar, and closing that one down too. If there was ever a spark, they felt it. If there was ever a connection, they had it. They were different in all the interesting ways, but similar in all the important ones. Falling in love was easy (almost too easy), and staying in love has never been easier. Enjoying the present together was effortless. Imagining a future together was simple. They were each what the other had been looking for all their lives. Just six months into their relationship, Jeff began coordinating a surprise proposal with over 30 of Natasha’s friends and family in Bangkok. He knew she didn’t want a private, faraway proposal—she wanted to celebrate surrounded by loved ones. Six months later, Natasha said, “Yes.” Operation Oong was a success! Today, Natasha and Jeff are building a life full of love, laughter, and adventure. They’re balancing careers, dissertations, and their own businesses. They travel the world for Natasha’s performances and to satisfy Jeff’s wanderlust. They are attending world-class jazz performances and massive EDM festivals. They are staying in gorgeous five-star resorts but also enjoy sleeping in the back of their Honda Fit, on a bed Jeff built himself. Every day, they play Wordle (competitively) with Dad and Pom, binge Second Date Update, cook together, and cuddle with Juju. There’s still so much they want to do—and now they get to do it all together. Let’s get started!
