Question

What about covid?

Answer

The wedding is all outdoors. We will have hand sanitizer and clorox wipes around the venue. As usual please stay home if you are feeling sick. Masks are encouraged if you feel the need. Please take any precautionary measures leading up to our wedding for your overall health.

Question

What if I want to camp?

Answer

We are asking guests who plan to camp at the wedding venue, the night of the wedding to arrive at 3:30pm prepared to set up their tents before the cocktail hour begins. Please come equipped with your camping gear. If you would like to camp but do not have the gear let us know personally. You are welcome to camp as there will be plenty of space and we have the venue for the entire weekend! There are other wonderful places in the Gorge to hike in and camp as well if you want to get adventurous after the wedding.

Question

Places to stay?

Answer

There are many wonderful places to stay in the gorge. If you are having issues finding a cabin email us at alexandriaisabella@gmail.com and we can assist you with finding a place.

Question

I didn't drive down, will there be rides?

Answer

Please contact us if you need assistance in transportation. There are plenty of places to rent a car along with family and friends who have kindly offered to carpool. We ask that whoever you drive to the Red River Gorge with, that you coordinate a way back. If they are leaving at a different time than you plan, you will have plenty of time to coordinate another ride over the weekend.

Question

Answer

The Red River Gorge is a rural area as it is a national forest. Please be prepared and have your transportation and your lodging figured out before you get there. Note that there are not services such as uber or lyft in this area.

Question

What is there to do in the Gorge?

Answer

We strongly encourage you to carve out a lot of time for yourself while in the Red River Gorge and make an adventure out of it. The wedding is over a weekend so it will be a great time to explore while you are down there. There are hundreds of beautiful hikes for all levels of hikers, over 500 arches, an enormous geological area, rock climbing preserves and so much more. Plenty of restaurants and close to Stanton where there is a Kroger grocery store if you feel like you need to stock up beforehand.

Question

Question

The Gorge is very rural, there will not be shuttles or Uber and Lfyt. Please have your rides figured out ahead of time.

Question

Are children allowed?

Answer

Yes, children are allowed but we ask that you RSVP for them as well. Keep in mind that we are in nature and that your children are tended to given the landscape.

Question

When should I book my accommodations?

Answer

If you decide to book through any of the rental companies we suggested, we recommend that you book your accommodations as soon as you know your travel plans, since they start to fill quickly. Especially in the fall at the Gorge is a sought after place this time of year.

Question

When should I buy my plane ticket? Where should I fly into?

Answer

On average, the best time to buy your ticket is between 21 and 121 days before departure, with the period between 40 and 50 days often mentioned as a golden rule. It is also usually cheaper to fly in on a Thursday or a Friday. We recommend that you download an airfare price analyzer app such as kayak, hopper, or google flights. Airfare price trackers analyze prices daily to predict how prices will change and tells you whether to buy or wait. The best place to fly into is CVG airport. You can fly into Lexington (LEX) which is an hour closer to the Red River Gorge however it may be more expensive depending on where you are flying in from.

Question

Should I rent a car?

Answer

Yes. Most of our guests are coming in from out of town. Since the Red River Gorge has so many things to offer like exploring the waterfalls, arches and all the beautiful sites, we recommend you have a way to get around. It'll be important to have your own transportation especially if you are flying in since you will need a way to get to the venue and to and from wherever you have accommodations. *If you need assistance with finding a ride or carpooling with guests from Cincinnati, we can do our best to help arrange this.
