Our Story

We met in Manchester at Hotel Football while filming The Overlap Fan Debate. In true Lanie fashion, she marched right up to Jack and roasted him for being a Manchester United fan (up the Chels!). Then, instead of following it up with something normal like “Nice to meet you,” she hit him with the most awkward icebreaker of all time: “So… where do you see yourself in five years?” Basically, as if it were a job interview. The real shocker is that Jack didn’t immediately run away. Even crazier, he actually answered. Fast-forward five years and here we are. We’ve traveled all across the UK for work, lived in London together, screamed “Go Birds!” at Eagles games in multiple stadiums, had more than a few “spirited debates” about fantasy sports, and spent so much time at Disney World that Mickey should probably start charging us rent. Oh, and we adopted the world’s most chaotic dog, Jerry, who became Chance’s little brother and quickly took over the family. So the moral of the story is simple. If you want to meet your soulmate, just make fun of their football club and ask them the weirdest question you can think of. Worked like a charm for us.

Sentimental Details

There are several sentimental details sprinkled into the wedding weekend

The Mamaroneck Methodist Church: This church has always been close to Lanie’s family. She went to preschool here, her dad raised money for the steeple and played the bells, and her aunt even served as an associate pastor. Wedding Officiant: The wedding will be officiated by Lanie’s aunt, Jennifer, which makes the day even more special. When Lanie was young, Jennifer served as the associate pastor at the Mamaroneck Methodist Church, and over the years, the Morrows and the Joneses became incredibly close, often spending Thanksgiving together. Those holidays famously included an annual boys versus girls dodgeball game that was very intense, complete with its own custom shirts and a commemorative ball that proudly sat in the middle of the dining table during dinner. Steve the DJ: During the pandemic, Tuesdays quickly became trivia night with Steve. Lanie’s mom basically won every single week, which the rest of the family is still recovering from. Thursdays were reserved for music bingo, and of course, the whole family tuned in again. Week after week, they joined the livestream to laugh, compete, and hang out. Steve is not only the life of the party as a DJ, but he’s also a close family friend of Lanie’s aunt and uncle.
