We're Getting Married!!

We met on Bumble in early June of 2023. I swiped on his profile because I thought he was cute (love the beard!) and I was very impressed he was a pastry chef at Kiawah Island at the time. The first time we met, he brought me a sunflower in an old glass coke bottle as the vase - from that moment on, I knew he was different. Our first official outing together, he took me to Ma'am Saab - an eclectic Pakistani restaurant that Andrew’s head chef at the time recommended to him to try. As most people know, I hate spicy food and so all I ended up eating that night was naan bread! Luckily, he didn't judge me and we still had a fantastic evening getting to know one another and the rest is history!

For our first meeting, I drove into the parking garage of a midrise apartment in downtown Charleston that was completely empty (they would not receive tenants for another month). Then I saw her, with her dark hair in neat bangs, black headband and black butterfly earrings. There was apprehension in her eyes, mixed with a hope for the future as she walked through the office door. I decided in that moment that I would do anything in my power to calm her heart. That 4th of July, watching the fireworks go off for miles around in every direction around us, on the rooftop terrace of an empty building, will be etched into my mind forever.
