Parents of the Bride
Est. August 14th, 1992 Greg and Mary Ann are always up to something--whether it's a walk around the block, yardwork, or helping a friend or neighbor, they don't sit still too long. Mary Ann is a certified Pilates instructor helping many people gain strength and confidence through movement for the last 30 years, she also enjoys playing golf, finding great deals while shopping (most often for other people), and a glass of wine with friends. Greg is more of a CYCLEpath, conquering thousands of miles of Minnesota roads each year--nothing stops this guy. This 60+ year old can ride 100miles in ~5 hours!
Parents of the Groom
Est. November 13th, 1992 Jim and Nancy brought Jarod into the world in Scottsbluff, NE. After becoming significant members of the community throughout the last ~35 years and are now retired-ish, and have taken up everyday hobbies. Nancy is an avid gardener and is so talented with all things crafty (water color, knitting, weaving, etc.). You never know, you may be looking at a N.Kerr original right in front of you! Jim used to be a transportation & logistics wizard, now those brain cells are quite focused on any sport associated with the University of Iowa and working in his shop. These road warriors take many trips to Iowa and Minnesota to spend time with family
Sister of the Bride
Sarah is 3 years and 2 school grades younger than Maggie. Growing up we often found our own way to do things. For example, both of us spent many years dancing; Maggie chose serious classical ballet and Sarah found joy in tap, jazz, kickline, etc. and that's the beauty of our relationship. Sarah has always loved to read and had curly hair, and most importantly is very kindhearted. Today, Sarah is an Elementary school teacher at a small Catholic school and makes such a meaningful difference in her students lives. She listens, helps, guides, and manages so much outside of herself day in and day out. I have so much respect for her resilience this past year+ with teaching through the pandemic, it has challenged her but also allowed her to grow, she is so impressive!
Priest Presiding Over Our Marriage
Father Tim was the head priest at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford, Iowa where the Langel family (Nancy Kerr's family) grew up attending mass and many sacraments were celebrated there. Recently, Father Tim presided over Jarod's Grandpa Earl and Grandma Joan's funerals (2 years apart) and through that process got to know the family very well. Maggie and Jarod will always cherish the comfort and support he offered the family during those tough times, as well as his appreciation for the caretakers of the land. Needless to say, Father Tim became part of the family. We are so excited that Father Tim will be presiding over our wedding, will get to celebrate with us, and meet all of our other family and friends.
Best Woman
Katie has been Team Maggie since the first day she started her internship at Target on the Sporting Goods team where Katie was working too. She welcomed little intern Maggie with open arms, befriended coworker Maggie with invites to hang out after work, and next thing we knew work wasn't even the reason we were friends anymore. Katie now lives in Austin, TX and crushes her job doing promotional strategy for Whole Foods Market. She is a very proud Notre Dame grad who doesn't lead with the fact that she went there, but after a margarita it's bound to come up :). Katie loves the bachelor/bachelorette, being on a boat, and supporting her friends with whatever they may need -- be that a drink, a hug, a pump up speech, a night doing karaoke, a prayer, you name it.
Best Man
Harrison and Jarod have been close friends since college (Go Hawks!); meeting initially in their fraternity. While Iowa is where they met, they both bonded while studying abroad & visiting each other in London and Prague as well as taking a trip to Scotland together. They have awesome memories of driving the hillside, playing golf, and tasting Scotch together. Harrison resides in Des Moines, IA with his wife Megan and dog Sila. The past few summers Jarod has been invited to play in Harrison's member-guest tournament at Wakonda Club. Through Harrison's countless attempts to teach Jarod how to golf, it seems the good times keep getting in the way. The duo is still waiting for their big break but have a good feeling about 2021. We will update this post if they take the cup home!
