What should I wear?

Answer

Portland Ceremony/Reception: If it helps, Ilana will be wearing a long white dress and Spencer will be wearing a suit. :) Wear something fitting for the weather and grass since we will be outdoors the whole time! We want you to look good and feel comfortable! The Redondo Beach Reception will be "Sunday best", the Wisconsin Reception will be relaxed but nice, and the other events are casual.

Can I bring kids/a date?

Answer

We are renting a chair and preparing food for each person that we know of, so please talk to Spencer or Ilana if you are unsure who your invitation included.

When should I arrive for the Portland Ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive no earlier than 1:00pm and no later than 1:20pm. We'd like to start right at 1:30 so unless you want to be a part of the processional, please take your seat before then!

Is the Overlook House accessible?

Answer

Accessibility is a priority for us, so yes! there are accessible indoor bathrooms, as well.

Does the Overlook House have parking?

Answer

There is only (free) street parking at the Overlook House, so please plan your travel time with space to find parking and walk to the venue! We recommend taking public transit whenever possible- there is a MAX (lightrail) station only a 5 minute walk away!

What's the alcohol situation at the Portland reception?

Answer

We will have an open bar with local beer and wine to enjoy with our light afternoon meal. Of course, there will be plenty of non-alcoholic options, as well.

What are your thoughts about technology during the ceremony?

Answer

Some moments are just too good to be distracted by our phones and cameras! We have a lovely photographer and videographer to capture the day and will share their art with you as soon as they're available to us. Please enjoy the ceremony with us without technology and we will take photos and selfies with you to your heart's content during the reception and after party!

Will we see you very much throughout the weekend?

Answer

Yes! We are doing our best to prioritize relationships and take advantage of your presence with us! We will have multiple events to spend time together beyond the ceremony and reception, including an after party after the reception and a park brunch on Sunday- please view our Schedule page and let us know if you have questions.

How can I help?

Answer

We want you to enjoy the weekend and do not expect our guests to help us with the tasks! If you are going to arrive early or just love being needed, contact Ilana and we'll see if we can find a spot for you. We are going to have a potluck-style brunch at a park the morning after the wedding, so you could bring something for that if you like!

When will the reception end?

Answer

The reception will end at 5pm, after which we will go out to continue celebrating with those who are interested.

How do I RSVP to the wedding?

Answer

We are having a small, intimate gathering and plan for you to be there if you received an invitation! Unless we hear otherwise, we will assume that you will be joining us!
