This narrow ridge of land features splendid lake views, farms and vineyards. Make sure to check out the Mission Point Lighthouse and Old Mission General Store, a quirky shop with an old-timey feel. They even sell penny candy! Old Mission Peninsula is famous for their wine trail that features 10 wineries. Shuttle tours and tastings available.
Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore- 1 hour drive from Elk Rapids
Hovering 400 feet above vibrant Lake Michigan, the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is a treasure that never fails to awe its visitors. The park is known for the huge scalable dunes of the Dune Climb. Great hikes at the dunes include: Empire Bluffs , Pyramid Point and Sleeping Bear Point.
