Are kids welcome?

Answer

The Saturday wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and reception are adults-only (18+ up). However, if you have family or a babysitter available to watch your children at White Birch Lodge, or at your hotel/house please feel free! WBL has camp counselors (primarily college students) on site starting in May. If you're interested in hiring one of them for the evening to babysit, please reach out to Ilana or Greg and we will connect you. Kids are welcome to join us at WBL all day Friday, at Short's Brewery on Friday night, Saturday before the wedding and all day Sunday. WBL is typically a family camp, so it is very kid-friendly!

What should I wear?

Answer

Cocktail attire. Northern Michigan summer nights can be chilly so don't forget to pack a sweatshirt or jacket!

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Plan for sunny days around 70 degrees, and chilly nights around 60 degrees. If it rains, events will be held in the White Birch Lodge dining hall or tent.

Answer

Most WBL units include mini-fridges, coffee makers, grills & picnic tables. The ice maker is on the north side of the dining hall. Contact Ilana to request more refrigeration space. Grocery Stores: Village Market is 1 mile away. Meijer is 17 minutes away. Beer, wine & liquor is available at Village Market, gas stations, Elk Rapids General Store, or Cellar 152.

Can I come hangout at WBL during the day even if I'm not staying there?

Answer

YES! Please do! There are public bathrooms, many gathering spaces and lots do on the grounds.
