McConnells Mill State Park
If you find yourself in Pittsburgh for a day and looking to escape the city then check out McConnells Mill State Park about an hour north of the city. Scott and I spend a lot of time kayaking all year here. We especially love the creek but also just the beauty of the gorge, the big boulders, and mossy covered hemlock trees.

If you are in the area and have time stop by and see the store. Our heart and souls have been poured into this passion business of sharing our love of the outdoors with our community and we would love for you to see it and share in it although we may not be there over the wedding weekend.
Cucumber Falls
A beautiful waterfall and a short hike from the parking lot, Cucumber Falls is an Ohiopyle favorite.
Kentuck Knob
Kentuck Knob, also known as the Hagan House, is a residence designed by the American architect Frank Lloyd Wright in rural Stewart Township near the village of Chalk Hill, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, USA, 45 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2000 for its architecture. Kentuck Knob sits above Ohiopyle and is our favorite of Frank Lloyd Wright homes.
Ohiopyle Falls
Ohiopyle is where we met, at the Pub Falls, here is a photo of the famous falls we both enjoy kayaking and where Scott spent many years as a raft guide.
Out of the Fire Cafe
This is our favorite sit-down restaurant in the Laurel Highlands, we recommend the mushroom soup and salmon.
