What’s the lingo for our wedding?

Answer

The GROOM is Zack (he/him/his) His BELOVED is j. (they/them/theirs) When the two of them are married, Zack will be j.’s HUSBAND! j. will be Zack’s LIFE PARTNER, or LIFE COMPANION! Zack & j. will both assume the last name IDYLLWILD while maintaining their own family names. You can find the Idyllwild story on the homepage.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Arrive at 1:30 pm, the ceremony begins at 2 pm.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes! As you would avoid wearing white to most weddings, AVOID WEARING PURPLE at ours! Attire is Cocktail, Semi-Formal, Gala, High Fashion — come as your most gorgeous self. Our ceremony will be celebrated in the grassy forest clearing just off the circle drive, so plan your shoes accordingly.

Is there parking?

Answer

Yes! The Michigan Wildlife Conservancy provides free parking reserved for our guests in the lots. The parking lots are adjacent to the circle drive which may be used for drop-off and pick-up.

Is there a hotel block?

Answer

Yes! We have a block of rooms reserved at the Eastwood Hampton Inn, under the name "Idyllwild." All hotels listed on our Lodging & Travel page are within 10 minutes of the venue, by the Eastwood Towne Center. Please let us know if you would like to coordinate carpooling with friends & family lodging in the Eastwood area, we will do what we can to connect y'all! Our wedding will be Sunday, September 21st, following a Michigan State Spartans home game on Saturday the 20th.

Please include all mealtime accommodation needs in your RSVP, and we will do everything we can to oblige.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. All guests are over the age of 18 and have received an invitation to attend. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us!
