Charlie and Ibby’s journey began the way all great relationships do - at a high school hangout during their freshman year at North Central. What started as a simple friendship quickly blossomed into something deeper. With Ibby being ten months older, she had her driver’s license first, and Charlie found comfort in the joy of her driving him around town—those little moments of shared laughter and carefree conversations became the foundation of their bond. Junior year was a turning point, when Charlie asked Ibby to junior prom. It was also the year Charlie took Ibby on their very first date, a simple meal at Perkins, a place that held a special spot in Ibby's heart. Their story continued to unfold at Indiana University. Ibby joined AXO, while Charlie lived just up the street at the Pi Kappa Phi house. They each spent a semester studying abroad where they were able to travel together exploring multiple European cities side by side. After graduation, life pulled them in different directions. Ibby moved to Columbus, OH, while Charlie stayed in Indianapolis. The drive between Columbus and Indy became a familiar one - a symbol of their commitment to one another, of the countless weekends spent exploring Columbus, and the moments shared with family and friends back home in Indy. The distance between them finally came to an end when Ibby moved back to Indianapolis during the pandemic. It was a challenging time for many, but for Charlie and Ibby, it marked the beginning of a new chapter. They spent a year living together before making the bold decision to move to Denver, drawn by their shared love of the outdoors and the mountains that felt like the perfect backdrop for their next adventure. After a year in Denver, Charlie finally popped the question on a hike and Ibby said yes! Charlie and Ibby will be celebrating 12 years in January and are counting down the days to their wedding in July 2025, surrounded by the people who’ve supported them through every step of their journey. They can’t wait to begin this next chapter - together.
