Antananarivo : The weather may be a bit chilly, wear something warm! Temperatures may range between 10-21 degrees. Nosy Be : Dry season, Sunny with temperatures between 18-30 degrees!

Individual outings / trips

Answer

Inside Antananarivo & Nosy Be, we already have plans to arrange trips and outings as groups. But if you are interested to arrange your outings, we advise you to still consult us beforehand so we can give you advice on your destination in the city and what to look out for or know beforehand. If you plan to arrange your own trip to other parts of Madagascar, please book your own accomodation and do research beforehand about your destinations and what you want to do there. We can advise you what is the best way to get there depending on location.

How many days should I stay in Madagascar?

Answer

If you are only attending the wedding: You should stay at least 5 days (July 14/15-19) in Antananarivo. If you are considering to join us on our Nosy Be trip following the wedding: You should stay at least 10 days or longer (July 14/15-24). If you plan to fly back to Europe from Nosy-Be 10 days will be enough. But if you plan to fly back to Europe or other Africa destination from Antananarivo, consider to extend your trip longer than 10 days to allow internal Madagascar travel.

Is there an International Airport in Nosy Be?

Answer

Yes, there is an international airport with some flights directly to Europe. But flights to other destinations are mostly from Antananarivo.

How to make purchases in Madagascar?

Answer

Most places do not accept credit card. So be prepared to withdraw cash already on your arrival at the airport or exchange your cash to the local currency.

Sim Cards and Apps

Answer

Sim cards : It is not neccesary to buy a sim card if you will mostly do your activities with our group. But if you plan to do many of your individual outings or trips, then you can buy a sim card already in the airport. App : All those apps which you are used to using outside Madagascar (e.g Uber, Food delivery apps, Online purchase, etc.) are not really available. In Madagascar, Facebook is the main go-to app for everything.

Medicine to consider?

Answer

We recommend you to consider taking malaria prevention pills however it is not mandatory. Also consider mosquito spray or cream. Check with your local pharmacy in your country. It is also possible to buy these when arrive in Antananarivo.
