We're getting married!

In November 2023, Ian Martin decided to extend another year in the US Air Force simply to see where it would take him. Simultaneously, November of ‘23 was also the month that Zaira Barrera went to Basic Training to join the US Air Force. These two individuals were raised on completely separate sides of the country and there was absolutely no way that they would find each other. At least that's what anyone you asked would say, but God knew that these two were made for each other and neither of them thought they would be the love of their life in a few short months. This was until February of 2024 when Zaira got an email saying she had been stationed in Little Rock Air Force base, this also happened to be where Ian had been stationed for nearly the last four years. Especially with being stationed so far from home, Zaira thought she'd be more scared than excited, but she couldn't wait to get there. As she was preparing to go to AR in March, Ian (who had been on a mid-shift for two years) was taken off and put onto a day shift. They didn't know it yet, but because of him being taken off of that off-shift, they met sooner than expected. A week after Zaira had gotten to Little Rock they had a uniform inspection and the shops came together. Zaira and Ian had a mutual friend that she was taking photos with when she saw Ian in the camera background keeping his distance. So, since he was already there, she asked him to get in the picture and after, asked him for his Instagram to tag him in the photo that she was going to post. Well, when she got his Instagram, she was very intrigued by how quiet he was and was determined to make him talk to her. Later that night Zaira got invited to go bowling with a couple of people from work and once she got there, she felt very awkward, since she had already been texting Ian, she thought there would be no harm in asking him to join so she would at least be with one person she knew. From that night forward, there wasn't a moment when these two weren't attached at the hip and texting every moment they were apart. April 14th, 2024 was the day Ian decided that he would take Zaira to her favorite restaurant and ask her to be his girlfriend, to which she said yes and the match continued to be inseparable. On June 11th, 2024, while on leave, Ian decided to tell his family that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Zaira. After a bit of planning, he proposed on October 31st, 2024, which happened to not only be Zaira's second favorite holiday but also her favorite time of year. After all the wedding planning and curveballs life has thrown at them, they are becoming one in front of God on December 14th of 2025.
