A great place to hike and see what the impact the glaciers had on the land. 1,3, and 10 mile hiking options. The trails are fairly smooth dirt, rock, and pine needle surfaces. Bring a water bottle and a camera! There is an interpretive center at the trailhead/parking lot were you can learn a lot about what-in-the-hell-happened-here and the local animals that make this area their habitat. They now require a vehicle admission sticker that ranges $8-$11 for a day pass. Well worth it!
This is the city to search if you are looking for things nearby. Groceries, Gas, Coffee, a great little antique store, etc.
We are fairly certain that you will find assorted Wisconsin cheeses and Green Bay Packers gear, but there many other things you can search out in the area to do. Golf, bowling, breweries, and state parks to name a few.
If you want to take a great brewery tour and hit an incredible gift shop afterwards then head over the Leinenkugel's Brewery in Chippewa Falls. Only 34 miles from Chetek, Leinenkugels is a Wisconsin staple. They have been at this since 1867 and have been carrying on their German family heritage back to their founder, Jacob Leinenkugel. Tours require a reservation and are only offered on Saturdays and Sundays right now with the Covid concerns. That could change if you are in the area earlier. Chippewa Falls is a great city to visit as well.
