FAQs

The Wedding Website of Ian Stanford and Leah Bower
There is no such things as a stupid question. So, we will try to keep this updated with more information as we go. However, if you have a question feel free to call Ian at 507.313.9845 or Leah at 612.462.1458. We got answers!
Question

What about COVID-19 in our lives? Is this still happening?

Answer

This is happening. We have carefully been watching restrictions and mandates around the Covid-19 pandemic. As restrictions are lifted, we only ask that you do whatever is comfortable to you and be respectful of others. We have plenty of space to social distance yourself, masks are completely up to you, and we will have hand sanitizer and a hand washing sink to use. If you are still uncomfortable with group settings and cannot make it we completely understand. At the end of the day we want everyone to stay safe.

Question

Is there a Dress Code

Answer

This is a "Come as You Are" event. Yes, maybe we stole that from Nirvana but we also find it to be more fitting for cabin lake life. Please wear whatever is comfortable and remember we're at a cabin, on a lake with lots of grass. Comfortable footwear is recommended, high heels are not. Bring a mask if you feel more comfortable with one.

Question

Where do I park?

Answer

Easy question, On Friday you may park at the cabin. On Saturday you may park in the nearby field (on the map above). Feel free to drive around to the cabin to drop people off before parking at the field. On Sunday it will be an either/or.

Question

What about my kids?

Answer

Yes, you may bring your children if we invited them or just let us know. We are right on a lake so please be cautious of this. We do not have a lifeguard. We do have stylish life jackets that you can adorn your child with just-in-case.

Question

Can I camp near the cabin?

Answer

We have space for a few tents and will have a bathroom/ shower available downstairs in the cabin for you. We will also have a couple Porto-potties to help ease the stress on our septic system. Let us know if you plan to camp and we will get you set up. Hey, Chetek River Campground is also near by if you are looking at setting up for a couple days. you can find their info on our Travel link.

Question

I want to catch a fish!!!

Answer

Don't we all. These lakes have plenty of fish to catch. You will need to purchase a Wisconsin fishing license as a visitor who is 16 years of age or older. A one-day license is about $8 and can be purchased online or at the Ace Hardware store in Chetek. We have some poles and tackle at the cabin.

Question

Can I bring beverages and/or snacks?

Answer

Absolutely! This is cabin living. If you hate good beer feel free to bring your own. We will have beverages and snacks available. Dinner will be a food truck wood-fired pizza option after the quick ceremony. There will be beverages available before the ceremony should you arrive early.

Question

Are you recycling at your wedding?

Answer

We are recycling the best we can in the area where the event is taking place. We will have trash bins along with recycling bins. Please use them correctly because Ian has a habit of sorting recycling at all times. We don't need him digging in the trash on his wedding day. When in doubt throw it out. Please remove labels from beer cans that have a stickered label wrap. They won't attempt to recycle them with the label still on the can.
