Born and raised in Dallas, TX, Ashleigh is the third oldest of nine children, one of whom is her identical twin sister. The bride is a current student at the Medical University of South Carolina, where she is studying to earn her bachelor's degree in Nursing. After graduation, Ashleigh intends to continue her employment at MUSC by practicing as a Registered Nurse on the Mother Baby Unit. She is passionate about educating and caring for new parents and their newborns. The Groom was born in Gainesville, FL but ultimately grew up in Richmond, VA. After graduating from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Ian joined the Navy as a student pilot. The time spent in the Navy led Ian to live in Jacksonville, FL; Corpus Christi, TX; and Kingsville, TX where he eventually met Ashleigh. Now a Project Manager, the groom has found a promising career as he continues to excel in the corporate world. In his free time, Ian is dedicated to coaching Ashley Ridge's 10U Football Team. When the bride and groom aren't busy with their careers and school, they love spending time together exploring Charleston, traveling, cooking, and spending time with friends. The bride and groom share a home together in Summerville, SC with their beloved dog, Moo.

August 6, 2022 began as a rainy, humid day in Charleston, SC. The families of both Ashleigh and Ian were in town to celebrate the purchase of their new home together. After deciding to wait out the rain, they all headed out to tour the historic Magnolia Plantation. Although Ian would like to think Ashleigh was unaware of his scheming, Ashleigh knew that Ian had been not so secretly planning to propose at some point during that weekend. Even as they passed the infamous, 'Long White Bridge', Ashleigh commented, "I bet hundreds of couples get engaged on that bridge each year", unbeknownst to her that she was about to get engaged in that exact spot. Ian's sister, Kelsey, suggested to Ian and Ashleigh that they should take a picture together on the bridge. After agreeing, Ian walked Ashleigh onto the bridge overlooking the beautiful marsh and posed for a few pictures. As Ashleigh turned to walk off the bridge, Ian nervously pulled her back towards him and got down on one knee. For the first time in Ian's life, he was absolutely speechless! A few moments go by in silence, so Ashleigh prompts Ian by asking, "Do you have something to ask me?" That's when Ian poured out his love for Ashleigh, recounting the unwavering support they had given each other over the past few years and finally asked for Ashleigh's hand in marriage. Ashleigh's eyes welled up with tears of joy as she listened intently to every heartfelt word. With trembling hands, Ian reached into his pocket and pulled out a small velvet box. Opening it, he revealed a glistening ring that was slid onto Ashleigh's finger as she nodded her head and said, "Yes!".
