Old Town Hot Springs
Steven calls Bethany a fish! She loves the water and has never met a hot spring she doesn't like. One day Bethany will convince Steven to do the cold plunge at this hot spring, it may just need to be in the warmer months! This hot spring is the middle of downtown Steamboat. This family-friendly recreation facility has a fitness center, lap pool, slides, and natural outdoor hot spring pools.
Fish Creek Falls Hiking Trail
Fish Creek Falls Trail is a 283-foot waterfall located a short drive outside of the town of Steamboat. It is quite a magnificent sight to see and only a 1/4 mile walk down a gravel path to view the lower falls. This trail is easily accessible for the entire family. For those more adventurous hikers there is a moderate hike to Upper Fish Creek Falls and Long Lake.
Strawberry Park Hot Springs
These scenic thermal pools are only 25 minutes from downtown Steamboat. They require a reservation ($20 cash only). There's a dirt road that leads to the springs so four-wheel drive is recommended. There are a variety of pools varying in temperature from 101 - 108 degrees. Please be advised clothing is optional after dark. The springs are open daily from 10 am - 10 pm.
Steamboat Howler Alpine Slide
The Howler Alpine Slide is fun for the entire family! Enjoy beautiful views as you ride a chairlift to the top of Howelsen Hill. You are in control of the exhilarating ride as you wind down a 2,400 foot track through the bends of curves of the mountain. Please check dates and hours of operation.
Pearl Lake State Park
Pearl Lake is a beautiful, pristine lake located 40 minutes north of Steamboat. There is a kiosk located at the lake where you can rent kayaks, paddleboards, and canoes. The lake is incredibly peaceful and surrounded by mountain views.
Yampa River Icehouse
Nestled along the Yampa River in downtown Steamboat Springs, the Yampa River Icehouse restaurant features ice-cold drinks and Texas-style smoky barbecue. From wings and frito pie to hearty salads, an array of burgers, and smoked meat combos, the Icehouse has a wide variety of options. The rooftop deck facing the river is a big draw in the summer months.
Tubing the Yampa River
Tubing the Yampa River offers a chance to experience downtown Steamboat from an inner tube while splashing in the waters of the Yampa River. The float can be as long or as short as you would like, and there are plenty of riverside stops like parks, restaurants, and bars along the way. Small rapids, standing waves, and rock features will carry you down the river on this exciting, family-friendly ride, lasting 1 to 3 hours depending on your put-in and take-out points and the river’s flow. Bethany's father highly recommends lunch at this gem of a restaurant! With delicious sandwiches and salads this restaurant is a delicious choice while visiting Steamboat! Their cinnamon rolls are in high demand and quite delectable.
Beau Jo's Colorado Style Pizza
Steven is a big fan of pizza and enjoyed his first experience eating here at this Colorado chain. He recommends ordering the thick crust and asking for the honey to pour over it.
