Airport Options

Reno International Airport The Reno airport is 1 hour from Tahoe City, CA. It will be the closest and easiest for you to fly in to, rent a car and drive up to the lake. However, it does not offer many direct flights from the East Coast. === Sacramento International Airport You may be able to find cheaper and more direct flights into Sacramento. From here you can also rent a car and drive up to the lake. This drive is approximately 2 hours. === San Francisco International Airport San Francisco offers direct flights to the East Coast but they tend to be a bit pricier. The drive from San Francisco to Tahoe is approximately 4 hours.

Transportation

Rental Car You can rent a car at any of the mentioned airports and drive to Lake Tahoe. Having your own car will be the easiest and most efficient way to get to and from all airports. Prices vary but rental cars out of Reno tend to be very cost effective. === North Tahoe Express There is an airport shuttle from the Reno International Airport to many hotels and destinations around Lake Tahoe. It costs $49/person each way and there are generally 2-4 available trips per day. If you do not plan to rent a car, this is the best way to get to the lake. However, please consider that once you get to the lake, public transportation is fairly limited; therefore, we do recommend people rent their own cars - or share a car with other wedding guests. https://www.northlaketahoeexpress.com/

The West Shore Cafe & Inn

This hotel is the location of our wedding. This upscale inn is good for someone who wants to stay right on the lake and simply walk downstairs to get to the wedding. There is one single queen room available for 3 nights (Thursday 9/12 - Sunday 9/16). Additional nights are available upon request, pending availability. The Resort at Squaw Creek

The Resort at Squaw Creek is an upscale hotel option in the area. It is located in Olympic Valley, CA which is a 15 minute drive to the lake. It is a full service resort with restaurants, bars, a pool and a spa. The hotel offers a free shuttle which leaves approximately every 30 minutes to take guests a quick 5 minute drive to Squaw Valley Village where you can find lots of additional restaurants, bars, shopping, hiking, cable car rides and more! Please note, this shuttle can not leave Olympic Valley so you would have to drive or take a cab to get to the lake. Rates vary by room view, night of the week, bed size and length of stay but here are approximate rates: $244 - $264 Deluxe Guest Room $294 - $314 Fireplace Suites $314 - $334 Deluxe Fireplace Suites Note: There is an additional $30/night resort fee for all rooms. This hotel is about a 25 minute drive to the wedding venue. We plan to provide a shuttle to and from the wedding from this hotel.

Sunnyside Resort

This boutique hotel is located right on the lake on the west shore of Lake Tahoe. It has a very popular lake front restaurant with waterfront dining and a nice bar area. The hotel is attached to the restaurant. The rooms are upscale mountain style decor. The rates range from $290-$405/night depending on room layout and views. This hotel is located only a quick 5-10 minute drive from the wedding venue.

Granlibakken Tahoe

This hotel and conference center is located on the west shore of the lake just south of Tahoe City, CA. The hotel is tucked into the woods giving it a very cozy and mountain atmosphere. They have Studios available for $259-$289/night. These rooms are like mini apartments which include a bedroom, bathroom, full kitchen and a small living room with a pull-out couch. This hotel is about a 10 minute drive from the wedding venue.

Pepper Tree Inn

This mid-level hotel is located right in the middle of Tahoe City, CA. It will be a central location for pre and post wedding hang outs as well as the rehearsal dinner. The rooms are basic but very comfortable and have fabulous lake views (floors 3-7). We have reserved a block of rooms on the 6th and 7th floors which are discounted to $153/night (weekdays) and $184.50/night (weekends). You can always downgrade the room to a lower floor to save a few bucks as well. Please NOTE: To receive the wedding block rate, all rooms MUST be booked prior to August 10th, 2018. This hotel is about a 15 minute drive to the wedding venue.

Basecamp Tahoe

This mid-level rustic hotel was recently remodeled. It has a very mountain cabin feel. The rooms are on the smaller side and do not have lake views, but the location is ideal. It is right in Tahoe City and across the street from many shops and restaurants. Their rates run approximately $135-$152/night. Use the discount code Tahoe914 online or by phone when booking to get a 10% discount on regular room rates. This booking can be canceled up to 72 hours prior to arrival without penalty. They also offer Advanced Purchase Rates which can be discounted 15-20%, but these bookings are non-refundable and must be paid up front, in full. These rentals would be ideal for anyone staying in Tahoe a bit longer or coming into town with a larger group.
