Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Nikkelle Hudak and Christian Cardoso
We would love to explore the surrounding area of Tuscania with you! Here are some sites to see near our venue to explore during downtime if you choose!
Abbey of San Giusto Tuscania

Abbey of San Giusto Tuscania

Strada Consortile delle Poppe, Tuscania, Lazio 01017, Italy

Our beautiful venue is a sight to see in itself. In 1990, Mauro Checcoli, purchased the ruins of the abbey from a shepherd. This Cistercian abbey, founded in 1146, had been abandoned for over six centuries. He immediately decided to return it to its medieval splendour, undertaking an arduous process of excavation, restoration, and reconstruction, which is now – after two decades – nearly complete. Today the Abbey of San Giusto is an eco-friendly organic farm. As it was for the medieval monks who once settled here, the Abbey is a truly unique setting, where the craftsmanship of man and nature join together in a valley amidst rivers, lavender fields, and olive groves. Our venue offers organic essential oils, extra virgin olive oil, Millefiori, lavender and chestnut honey, as well as a variety of cheeses, all produced on or near the farm.

Villa Lante

Villa Lante

71 Via Jacopo Barozzi, Bagnaia, Lazio 01100, Italy

With its cascading fountains and magnificent parterre, the gardens of the Villa Lante della Rovere at Bagnaia, just outside of Viterbo, are not to be missed. Widely considered among the most beautiful gardens in Italy, the gardens are attributed to the sixteenth-century architect Jacopo Barozzi.

Civita di Bagnoregio

Civita di Bagnoregio

Civita di Bagnoregio, Lazio 01022, Italy

Cìvita di Bagnoregio has been dubbed the “Dying City” on account of its precarious geological position: indeed, Civita was abandoned in the Middle Ages as the rocky outcrop on which it is perched gradually crumbled into the valley below. The view of the city from across the causeway is genuinely breathtaking, and the village itself is rightly considered one of Italy’s most beautiful.

Strada San Pietro & Strada Santa Maria

Strada San Pietro & Strada Santa Maria

Lazio 01017, Italy

The two superb churches of Tuscania, San Pietro and Santa Maria, are unrivalled masterworks of romanesque architecture. Located just outside of Tuscania, the basilica of San Pietro sits high on the hill with the church of Santa Maria (and its vaunted twelfth-century apse frescoes) just below it.

Bolsena Lake

Beaches

San Giusto is only a few kilometres from the sea, and several beautiful beaches are easily accessible: Tarquinia: “Le Saline”, near a natural park Capalbio: Spiaggia del Chiarone Monte Argentario: La Feniglia, and La Giannella
