Question

Altitude Adjustment

Answer

Fun fact: Denver is known as the mile-high city, with an elevation of approximately 5,280 feet. Our venue at Timber Ridge is more than double that (11,660 feet)! At over 11,000 feet, feeling the altitude is not uncommon amongst folks traveling from lower elevations (the base of Keystone where most hotels are located is around 9,000 feet above sea-level). Common side effects can include headaches and shortness of breath. Be sure to hydrate! We recommend bringing a reusable water bottle to use during your stay in Colorado, and be aware that alcohol hits harder up here. Mix in some water! Some might choose to spend as much time as possible in Denver or in Summit County before the wedding in order to acclimate. If you are concerned about the altitude, some doctors may prescribe medication that helps with adjusting. We're not trying to scare anyone, and it isn't a guarantee you'll feel any ill effects.

Question

Kid-Friendliness

Answer

Our ceremony and reception on Saturday, August 8 will be adults only. However, our Welcome Party will be kid-friendly. For those traveling with children, we plan to provide professional childcare resources upon request for our wedding ceremony and reception. Please let us know as soon as possible if you'd like to know more about childcare options.

Question

What to Wear?

Answer

Our wedding ceremony will be outside, near treeline, at 11,000 feet! Even in August, it can be chilly, especially once the sun goes down. Wind, rain, and even snow can fly at our venue any month of the year (but we really hope it's nice out). After our ceremony and cocktail hour, dinner and dancing will take place indoors. Bring appropriate layers so that you'll be comfortable! Please check the forecast for Keystone, Colorado, before you pack (not Denver!), and bring something to wear that you can layer depending on conditions. While we don't have a crystal ball, our best guess would be around 65 degrees. Our wedding will also take place on a natural surface (think grass, mulch, or dirt), so pointy heels probably won't be your friend. And we'll be dancing! So, comfy shoes. Bring your personality to your clothes, because we'll be doing the same! If we had to put a name on it, we'd call it: casual, colorful cocktail. We're going with a wildflower-inspired palette, so feel free to have fun with colors, patterns, and accessories.
