Ten Foot Henry
This is one of favourite breakfast spots. Ten Foot Henry is an all-day-restaurant that offers a fresh vegetable-anchored menu and fun, family style dining. They bridge the gap between what you should be eating and what you really want to eat. Our favourite dish is the flat iron steak with truffle dijon and gai choy.
The Guild
One of our favourite dinner spots in Calgary we almost had our rehearsal dinner here. It has an exciting take on the finest traditions of butchery, cookery and bar-keeping. The name is inspired by guildhalls from the past, which served as meeting places for secret societies for artists and merchants. Our favourite dish is Steak Tartare with quail eggs and siracha chips.
Lake Louise
This is an absolutely must see location about a two hour drive west of Calgary. This could ideally be done in the same day as Banff. We would recommend Lunch at the Chateau Lake Louise or Deere Lodge. Both have uniquely local food!
Banff
About an hour and a half drive west of Calgary this is an absolutely gorgeous spot where you can be immersed in the mountains. Christopher and I have been there on many weekend trips and needless to say we had a blast.
Canmore
The Town of Canmore is one of the most beautiful places in all of Canada! Opening out across the floor of the Bow River Valley and flanked on all sides by the front ranges of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, Canmore offers the best of all possible worlds. Beginning with an enviable geographic location approximately an hour and a half from downtown Calgary and five minutes from Banff National Park's east gate, Canmore offers not only a spectacular location but unequalled outdoor recreational opportunities, great food, and great shopping in the heart of some of the world's most breathtaking scenery. Definitely worth the visit!
TELUS Spark Science Centre
An awesome place for the whole family! The Telus Spark center has the largest dome theatre in western Canada and focuses on sharing the world of science, technology and innovation in fun and creative ways.
Calgary Zoo
The best part about the Calgary Zoo is their dinosaur exhibit. It is a can not miss!
