Our Story

Liz: On a rainy Saturday in April 2014, I had made plans to visit some college friends. We made plans to go out in downtown Columbus. I was told that two friends (Casey and Addie), and their significant others would be going out. Just as I was thinking I was going to be a 5th wheel, Casey told me that her boyfriend (now husband) Dave, was bringing along a friend. I quietly rolled my eyes, and thought to myself "they are going to try and set me up". We all met up at Dave's place before going out. After saying hello to everyone, I noticed a tall, quiet guy in the back of the room. I didn't take much notice until, as we were driving downtown, he laughed at my jokes. I knew then, that this Zack kid was something special (obviously, if he laughs at my jokes). We got to know each other a little over the course of the evening, and when I was invited to Dave's birthday party a couple of weeks later, and was told that Zack would really like it if I came, I didn't roll my eyes. I smiled. We went on our first date about a month later and never looked back! Zack: Picture this. Its spring of '14. I'm about to wrap up another grueling semester of college at OSU. As exams are wrapping up, my best friend David Hammond (hint, see the wedding party!) mentions he and his then girl friend Casey Claridge (and now wife! They are adorable!) were going to be getting together with some old college friends to get dinner, have a few drinks, and generally take in the nightlife of downtown Columbus. So I thought, hey, I like (most) of those things. Enough that I could tolerate some strangers, anyways. So I MAY have invited myself along. Little did I know, I had just made the most important, brash decision of my life. After a night of car radio karaoke, laughs shared in a piano bar, and a snafu involving a traffic cone (don't ask!!), I decided I really wanted to get to know a girl named Elizabeth a little better. And, well, one thing led to another, and here we are!
