Plum Island Beach
This is the beach the Bergstens frequent the most often. It is a little further away than Crane Beach but nearby downtown Newburyport is a great place to do some window shopping and grab some lunch!
Crane Beach
This beach is part of the Trustee's of Reservation, the entry fee is a bit higher than other local beaches, however it tends to be calmer water and softer sand than Plum Island, so is great for families with children.
Water Park of New England
This in the hotel we have booked a hotel block in, however, you do not have to be staying at the hotel to buy tickets to the water park. We haven't been here personally, but we've heard great things!
Bradley Palmer State Park
This park has many walking trails, including a wheelchair accessible trail, and in the summer they usually have a wadding pool open for families with small children to cool off.
Mass Audubon's Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary
Great walking trails with especially good bird watching spots.
True North Ale Company
This is a fun brewery that frequently has food trucks as well.
