In 1978, James Dyson was frustrated with his vacuum cleaner's diminishing performance. Taking it apart, he discovered that its bag was clogging with dust, causing suction to drop. Five years and 5,127 prototypes later, he had invented the world's first bagless vacuum cleaner. The Dyson V8 Animal cordless vacuum cleaner is engineered with the power, versatility and tools to clean homes with pets with up to 40 minutes of runtime. The de-tangling Motorbar cleaner head has hair removal vanes to clear hair from bar and the innovative Hair Screw tool removes pet hair from upholstery. The Dyson V8 has advanced, whole-machine filtration that traps 99.99% of particles as small as 0.3 microns (like pet allergens and fine dust) and the washable filter can be used for the lifetime of the machine. Thanks to the cordless format, it also transforms into a handheld vacuum with one click so you can clean up high, down low and everywhere in-between.
