Question

What are the COVID precautions, mask requirements, etc.?

Answer

There will be a sanitation station upon arrival at the venue where you will have your temperature screened (if not already done upon boarding the bus). At the ceremony site, masks will be required if you are within six feet of other guests or are mingling with others outside of your household. Throughout the night, you are expected to wear masks in any common pathway, anywhere under the tent while not seated at your assigned table, in the clubhouse, and on the terrace when not eating or drinking or being strictly isolated from a group. Masks will also be required on the dance floor during group dancing periods. Drinks cannot be consumed on the dance floor. Per Virginia guidelines, you will be seated at socially distanced table settings and are allowed to eat, drink, and converse with your immediate dining group without wearing a mask. Any interactions with another table/outside of your dining group, masks are mandatory. In addition, the staff will be taking COVID precautions.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

In order to allow all of our guests, including those of you who are parents, to enjoy a relaxing evening, our wedding ceremony and reception will be an adults-only celebration. We hope the advance notice means you'll still able to share our big day with us and enjoy having the night off!

Question

Does this wedding have a hashtag or social media handles?

Answer

Yes, it does! We will be using #hitchingthewagoners on all platforms. We also have a Twitter handle @hitchingthewags (gotta love their limits on length) and Intstagram account @hitchingthewagoners that we'll be using to give updates as we get closer to the event, so feel free to follow those accounts and even allow push notifications so you stay up to date!

Question

What is the dress code for men on the day of the ceremony

Answer

Weddings in the fall, particularly those held outdoors, allow you to have a little more fun and take some liberty in what you wear. Basic guidelines would be to wear a suit, collared long-sleeve shirt, belt, leather dress shoes. In the fall, ties can be seen as optional (it is also shirt collar dependent e.g. be cautious with wide or extra wide collars for the no-tie look) and if you so choose in lieu of your tie, add some character to your look with a pocket square. Any colored suit works (I don't want anyone to go out and buy a suit in a different color) but blues and grays mix in well with the time of year and location of the ceremony. Lastly, don't over think it. If you are the type of person who takes pride in suiting up like me, bring your A-game. Conversely, if wearing a suit is seen as overwhelming, keep things simple. The important thing is we all enjoy the day together. Summary guide here: https://amp.businessinsider.com/images/532b55d3ecad04022c6d5b4b-2732-1366.jpg

Question

What is the dress code for the welcome dinner Friday night for men? (Ladies can use this as a guage for their attire)

Answer

Again, this is one where I don't want people to overthink it. Just wear something that is a nice casual that you will be comfortable in. Collared shirts are expected, and that is the only firm guideline I have to lead you into your choice of attire. Many options are open such as shirt+sport jacket+khakis, shirt+sport jacket+nice jeans (such as what I am wearing in our save the date/wedding homepage picture), business casual as in an appropriate suit without tie. There are many options within that 'sharply dressed yet disarming and casual look' so have fun with it. I personally am still debating whether to go with a suit (safe bet would be a shade of blue, complemented with brown leather) or something similar to the save the date/wedding homepage photo of nice jeans, nice shoes, a sport jacket. I just mention this so you can gauge your choices with what I might wear so you don't feel over- or underdressed.
