Sanderling Resort

We have a discount room block at the Sanderling Resort for Thursday - Sunday. Please call and say that you are booking for the Hire/Baumhart Wedding on September 25, 2021 or use the above link. We recommend that you book your room at the hotel by August 9, 2021 to ensure that you receive the discounted rate. We suggest staying on property as you can easily participate in all the activities and other options can involve long car rides.

Flight

Norfolk International Airport

This is the closest airport to the Outer Banks, about 2-hours by car. We suggest you fly here and then rent a car or schedule a shuttle to get to the island.

Travel Note

Taxis & Airport Shuttles

There are a variety of shuttle and cab companies for airport transportation or just a taxi ride on the island. We've used Island Taxi (252-441-2500) for short trips and had a good experience. For all cabs, call ahead as they can take 30 minutes or more to arrive and for airport shuttles, schedule ahead of time.
