FAQs

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

It is late May in Washington so be prepared for a little bit of everything! The average daytime temperatures that time of the year are in the mid 50s to mid 60s. We highly recommend keeping an eye on the forecast leading up to the wedding and planning accordingly! Did we mention the wedding’s in Washington? You might bring a rain jacket too!

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We recommend staying at the Resort at Port Ludlow where both the ceremony and reception will take place. It also makes it easy to mingle and meet people! If you choose to stay somewhere else you can find various hotels and rentals in the area.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

For the cereomy we recommend ‘dressy casual' (if you aren't sure what this means, you can get some ideas if you Google it). The ceremony will take place outside on grass, so keep that in mind when choosing your footwear. It is also a bit more breezy at the ceremony site so we recommend bringing a jacket or sweater depending on the temperature. Please no blue jeans.

Question

What is going on Friday?

Answer

We are looking forward to welcoming you all as you arrive! Feel free to swing by the Andrew’s Suite anytime after 3:30pm (across the breezeway from the lobby, if you aren’t sure they will be happy to point you in the right direction) for a beverage before or after you settle in. There will be a server making the rounds and happy hour bites available to order through the resort’s restaurant (Fireside) until 5pm. The bride and groom will be hanging out at the Andrew’s Suite most of the evening and we will certainly have fire pits going on the veranda. Feel free to come and go as you please. Please note, there are no formal dinner plans this evening. If you wish to stay on site and have dinner at the Fireside restaurant we recommend calling to make a reservation ahead of time. There are also a couple restaurants up the street (Mexican, pizza) and several more dining options in Port Townsend about a 30 minute drive from the resort.

Question

Where will the ceremony take place?

Answer

The ceremony will take place at Burner Point on property at The Resort at Port Ludlow. In the event of inclement weather the ceremony may be moved inside.

Question

Where will the reception take place?

Answer

The reception including dinner, dessert and dancing will take place in the Sunroom and adjacent space at the Resort at Port Ludlow.

Question

What if I have a dietary requirement?

Answer

Please let Hilary or Zac know when you RSVP and we will work with the resort to accommodate your dietary needs.

Question

Will alcohol be served at the reception?

Answer

Beer and wine will be served, liquor will be available for purchase.

Question

Do you have a wedding hashtag?

Answer

#hilaryandzac2025

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

The resort is certainly geared towards couples and makes for a great romantic getaway, but you are also welcome to bring your children to the resort. Due to limited venue space, we would appreciate non-relative guests making other arrangements for their children during the ceremony and reception.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

You are welcome to take pictures, but we ask you to please be mindful of the professional photographer and others around you.

Question

Do you have a gift registry?

Answer

Yes, but your presence is the best gift we could ask for and we appreciate you making the trip to celebrate with us. If interested, you can navigate to the "registry" tab on this website to view our registry.
