We met on Hinge (dating apps do work!) in mid May. We settled on meeting at Sockeye Brewing in Boise on a Sunday evening. Being a punctual Fehringer, Zac was the first one there. Hilary clearly remembers walking in the door and seeing this handsome guy standing up from where he was seated on a bench to greet her. The rest of the evening consisted of lots of good conversation and playing a round of mini golf. At the end of the date Zac asked for Hilary’s number and the rest is history! Sockeye Brewing holds a special place in our hearts, somewhere we continue to go to enjoy the occasional trivia night.

Early on in the relationship, Hilary and Zac bonded over their shared love of the band the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It was pretty high on both of their bucket lists to be able to see them live while they are still touring (they've been rocking since 1982!). It just so happened the band was touring in the northwest and would be playing a show at The Gorge Amphitheater in central Washington. Without hesitation, this show landed on calendars and plans were made. Fast forward to a warm Friday afternoon in May, they arrived to set up camp at a campground next door to the amphitheater. A neat looking winery that offered tastings on show days was just up the road from the campground. With some time to kill before the show they decided to wander over there for a tasting. While walking the grounds and around ponds overlooking the picturesque Columbia River Gorge, Zac encouraged Hilary to pose for a picture taking in the view. When she turned around, he was down on one knee and made her the happiest girl in the world that day.
