The Wedding Website of Jordan Henry and Brandon Cudequest
Flying into Edinburgh or Glasgow will be the most direct route to the wedding venue, though you can also fly into London and take a train up. See sections below for more info on flying into different cities. Tips for international travel: 1-Check that your passport is up to date. 2-The UK now requires an electronic travel authorisation for visitors. This costs £10. Learn more here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta 3-European airports can be strict about liquids in carry-on bags. If you do not want to repack your toiletries in a clear bag at security, invest in a clear toiletry bag. 4-Taylor Swift may believe jet lag is a choice, but that's not the case for most of us. Please come rested, refreshed, and prepared to party late into the evening on the big day. 5-Scotland feels larger once you are there, and it takes longer to get places than suggested on GPS. Be prepared for small curvy roads that are often single lane and full of sheep.

Flight

Edinburgh Airport (EDI)

Moffat is 1 hour and 20 minutes by car from the Edinburgh airport. While we recommend staying in Moffat the night of the wedding, there are a number of hotel options near the airport. Houston's Mini Coaches operates the 101A service from Edinburgh to Moffat. The bus ride is slightly over 2 hours long and may be more affordable than renting a car. ScotRail operates train service departing from the Edinburgh Waverley station and arriving in Lockerbie, a neighboring town of Moffat. The train ride is about 1 hour and 45 minutes and may also be more affordable than renting a car. A pre-arranged taxi can pick you up at Lockerbie and bring you to Moffat, which is an additional 20-minute car ride. Do you have time before or after the wedding for sightseeing? Edinburgh is a romantic city with plenty of attractions to fill several days. Visit the "Things To Do" page for recommendations.

Flight

Glasgow Airport (GLA)

Coming in for a quick weekend and don’t have time for sightseeing? Glasgow is closer to the venue - 1 hour by car from the airport. ScotRail operates train service departing from the Glasgow Central station and arriving in Lockerbie, a neighboring town of Moffat. The train ride is about 1 hour and may be more affordable than renting a car. A pre-arranged taxi can pick you up at Lockerbie and bring you to Moffat, which is an additional 20-minute car ride. Glasgow's charm is less obvious than Edinburgh, but don't be fooled. Visit our "Things To Do" page for ways to make your time in Glasgow unforgettable.

Flight

London Heathrow (LHR)

Even if your final destination is EDI or GLA, you may have a layover at London Heathrow. You might have time to journey downtown (highly recommend!), stay overnight at one of the many airport hotels (ask us about our Hilton Garden Inn story), or just enough time to stretch your legs before your connecting flight. Additionally, you have the option to take a train from England to Scotland. There is an 4-hour ride from London to Lockerbie, a neighboring town of Moffat. A pre-arranged taxi can pick you up at Lockerbie and bring you to Moffat, which is a 20-minute car ride.

Rental Car

Driving on the left side of the road

We rented a car through Turo, and it was very reliable. Common rental options (Enterprise, Hertz, Avis, etc.) are also available. Based on user reviews, avoid the rental company Green Motion. Many car rental agencies accept a US Driver's License as a valid form of ID. From our experience, US drivers are required to rent an automatic transmission car. Driving on the left side of the road takes some getting used to, but you'll be a pro after a few days!

For all the days along the way
