Love at 10,000 ft = how to be prepared for Altitude in Breckenridge! Breckenridge sits at 9,600 ft but rises to 12,998 feet
*Altitude Sickness- The most common symptoms include headaches, shortness of breath, nausea, and trouble sleeping. The onset of altitude sickness usually occurs within 24-48 hours of arrival, but resolves for most people within a couple of days.
*ACCLIMATE Spend the night at a lower elevation like Denver if you are able.
*ALCOHOL (remember 1 drink at sea level = 3 at altitude )
*HOW TO DRESS! Bring a coat/jacket. Colorado weather is always changing and having a sweater and a jacket/coat for later in the evening can be SUPER necessary.
*THE SUN! - Colorado sun is typically out and can be very intense. Chapstick, sunscreen and sunglasses are all very necessary!
*DRINK WATER - Start hydrating much more than usual before you leave for the Rockies! Drink twice the water that you normally do!
