The RSVP deadline has been extended to October 1st, 2020.
We will be staying at Grand Palladium Riviera Maya from Friday 11/6 to Friday 11/13/20. The wedding is Monday 11/9/20. The minimum stay is 3 nights, or stay for as long as you'd like! An ideal 3 night stay might be Sunday 11/8 to Wednesday 11/11/20. Or Saturday 11/7 to Tuesday 11/10/20 if you need to miss as little of the workweek as possible. 11/11/20 is Veteran's Day. If you're lucky, maybe you don't have to work?
Round trip transportation to/from the hotel and Cancun Airport (CUN) is included in your rate when you book with our TA! It takes about 1 hr by car from the Cancun airport to Grand Palladium White Sand/TRS Yucatan. Once your room is paid in full, you will receive an email from Michelle/Destify asking for your flight information. This way the transportation company knows when to expect you at the airport to pick you up! There will be details on how to find your ride once you submit your flight information.
We'd much rather you be a part of the festivities!! There are also big FEES for outside guests that you would be responsible for, so please contact us if you are considering this.
We ask that you PLEASE PLEASE book through our TA! This is very important! Booking through our TA allows us to keep track of our guest's reservations and travel dates and keep an accurate headcount for the wedding (all event pricing depends on this). AND it is the only way to request that our rooms are all near each other, instead of spread out through such a large property! With our TA, all you need to secure your room and lock-in your price is a $150 DEPOSIT per person. Then you make flexible payments of any amount, at any time, up until September 3, 2020. Pretty sweet!! She can also PRICE MATCH! This must be done the SAME DAY you pay the room deposit. Check www.palladiumgroup.com/en for sales (or orbitz, etc) and take a screenshot of the room details, then email the screenshot to michelle@destify.com to request price matching. More info on rates & price matching: www.ItsRoeTime.com
Coronavirus has hotels dropping their rates lower than we've ever seen. When we notice a sale or hear of a promo code, we'll email everyone to share it! 1. Go to www.itsroetime.com, click BOOK NOW, then choose your room type, and click BOOK NOW a second time. 2. Fill out Room Arrangements: # of adults/children, travel dates, names, contact info. Submit, then pay the deposit on the next screen. 3. Submit your DEPOSIT. *Total package amount should be the price matched rate*. You can also buy travel insurance at this time. Our TA, Michelle will have now received your booking! 4. Take a SCREENSHOT of the better rate you found online! The screenshot must include the room type, number of adults/children, travel dates, the URL, and the current date/time. 5. EMAIL the screenshot to michelle@destify.com THE SAME DAY you pay the deposit to request a price match. 6. Michelle will apply the price match and you will receive an email with the updated total and balance due. DONE!
Yes, this resort is BIG! But it's walkable, and there are golf carts and a "train" that can take you from place to place! Grand Palladium Riviera Maya includes: TRS Yucatan, GP White Sand, GP Colonial, and GP Kantenah. We chose to offer rooms at both TRS (adults only) and White Sand (family friendly) since they are closest to each other.
Almost all of our guests (and ourselves) will be staying at TRS Yucatan. If you're traveling with children, you will have to book at Grand Palladium White Sand. White Sand is family friendly, closer to Kantenah and Colonial where most of the wedding activities will be held. It's also less expensive per night than TRS. TRS is adults-only, and guests at the other 3 resorts cannot access it's pools or restaurants.
Yes of course! Book your room in GP White Sand, since this is family-friendly. There are kids clubs for different ages, a kid's pool area, and babysitting services (for an extra fee). The ceremony and reception will also be kid-friendly.
Probably not. BUT if you plan to leave the resort or take the colectivo to Tulum, Akumal, or Playa del Carmen it might be good to have pesos with you. If you pay in USD, you will likely get change in pesos. You can also use your credit or debit card for most things, but alert your bank ahead of time that you will be traveling internationally. The best way to exchange currency is through your bank in advance of your trip- exchange rates at the airport are usually not good!
Tips are not expected, but always appreciated! You can tip staff in USD or Pesos. Please consider tipping your bartenders, waiters, cart drivers, butlers, housekeeping, etc. Even small amounts are greatly appreciated. We plan to bring lots of small bills (possibly some pesos as well) so that we can tip frequently at the resort!
See our travel agency's cancellation policy here: https://destify.com/terms/ Despite COVID-19, we're all optimistic that the wedding will go on as planned! Worst case scenario, coronavirus is still rampant in November, and international travel remains limited or impossible. We would simply change the date of the wedding with the resort to a later date. For our guests who have already booked their rooms, either paid in full or partially, those funds would be applied to a new booking for the new dates. The price may change depending on the hotel rates for our new dates. The SAFEST thing to do would be to purchase the TRAVEL INSURANCE at the time you make the deposit! The cost varies per person depending on the package price. PLEASE EMAIL our travel agent, Michelle, with any specific questions about cancellation, insurance, and what-if scenarios. Michelle@destify.com
Masks are required in the lobby, when entering/exiting a restaurant, and when inside the assisted buffet area (if these are open).
If you plan to swim in the TRS saltwater pool, in the ocean, or in the cenotes, this is important! The following ingredients found in sunscreen can be harmful to the coral reef! - Oxybenzone - Octinoxate - Petrolatum - Mineral Oil - Titanium Dioxide (in high percentages) - Nanotized zinc oxide (look for non-nano zinc!) I’ve heard great things about TropicSport products and even found some Alba spf spray at Costco that is labeled as “Reef Friendly”. Badger clear zinc sunscreen cream gets good reviews as well! Give it a google :)
