Welcome to our Wedding Website!

We hope you can join us to celebrate our wedding in Riviera Maya, Mexico! We will not be sending paper invitations. I guess we are a little unconventional. If you can join us for the fiesta, PLEASE RSVP here and book your hotel stay via our travel agent (TA) through the link in TRAVEL & HOTEL! There is a lot of information on this site, so have a look around! Questions? Check the FAQS! SCROLL DOWN FOR WEDDING UPDATES (from newest to oldest)

Rate Sale! Code: STARDAYS for 15% off

September 7, 2020

New promo code! Valid from 9/7-9/14 for 15% off lowest posted resort rates at https://www.palladiumhotelgroup.com/en/hotels/mexico/rivieramaya/trs-yucatan-hotel Promo code is: STARDAYS Reminder!!! It helps us out if you book with our travel agent at www.itsroetime.com and then price match to the GP sale rates!

Good news (for once)!

September 3, 2020

The resort will be opening earlier than planned! Grand Palladium Riviera Maya had originally planned to reopen on November 1, 2020 but instead they announced this week they will open on October 2, 2020. This means they'll get to work out some kinks before our wedding week, and it's much less likely that we will be moved to the sister resort (Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres). Woohoo! Today is the deadline to pay for your room via our travel agent, Michelle. That means if you are still planning to book, the balance must be paid in full at the time of booking. Once again, we highly recommend purchasing the travel insurance! Last minute RSVPs and bookings are due by OCTOBER 1st. The resort will be having one of their "Star Days" sales from Sept 7-14, I will post the promo code here once it goes live. Again, you can price match the rate with Michelle (preferred- it helps us out and makes things much easier) or book directly through the resort (if you do- please email your booking confirmation to us so we can add you to the rooming list for our wedding coordinator). All for now! xoxo

Promo Codes: METAS6, WB11

August 17, 2020

Hey all! The hotel rates are currently quite low already but we did find a couple promo codes for you to try. (6% off) METAS6 (11% off) WB11 These may be used to book directly on the Palladium Group website or for price matching that rate with our travel agent, Michelle. No telling how long these codes will be working! - Sarah

Info about travel, resort precautions, etc

July 30, 2020

You may have seen that the Mexico-US border is mostly closed, but this only applies to land travel. You can still fly into any airport in Mexico as of this update. Precautions being taken at the resort: - Please read about all the protective measures that are being taken at the resort here: https://www.palladiumhotelgroup.com/en/vacations-post-covid-19 - The resort is also offering free medical insurance to everyone during their stay at the resort. For more info: https://www.palladiumhotelgroup.com/en/stay-safe-covid19 - I have seen photos and videos from other travelers of staff, all wearing face masks and shields. Self-serve buffets will not be in use, and restaurants will be reservation only (taken care of by your butler). Tables in restaurants will be spaced for social distancing. - Our main wedding events, the ceremony and beach bash reception, will be private and held outside on the beach. - Most likely, the resort will be operating at decreased guest capacity which should make for a *fairly* safe environment, especially with all the additional precautions. If we are forced to postpone: - Any money paid toward your booking with the travel agent will be transferred to a new booking for the new wedding date. - Airlines have reportedly been very flexible with cancellations, but have heard it’s easiest if you book flights directly, and not through Orbitz, Expedia, etc. - If you did not book with the travel agent, the policies will vary. Also of note, our resort, Grand Palladium Riviera Maya, is currently closed until November 1, 2020. All bookings until then are being automatically transferred to their sister property near Cancun, called Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres/TRS Coral. It’s reasonable to assume this date could potentially be pushed back, which would mean a venue change for our group to the other resort. Both resorts are beautiful and Cancun will still be the nearest airport to GP Costa Mujeres so it won’t be a big deal if it happens this way.

RSVP Deadline Extended

July 30, 2020

“No, sorry.” - If you are not comfortable traveling, we of course, understand completely and want everyone to feel comfortable and safe with their decision. - Please update your RSVP here on the website: https://www.zola.com/wedding/helfrichroewedding “Maybe??” - If you want to wait it out and make the decision a little ways down the road, we can do that too. - We need a final headcount at least a month prior to the wedding, so OCTOBER 1st will be the absolute LAST DAY you can RSVP "yes" and book your stay. “Heck yes!” - If you’re down to join us, we’d be thrilled to have you. We take risks doing just about anything these days, so if this is one risk you’re willing to take, then so be it! - RSVP on the Zola website and reach out if you need any help booking the hotel or your flights. - If you’re waiting on a passport, I’ve heard that you can call your state Senator’s office and ask that your application be pushed through to receive it faster.

Booking Options (more covid updates)

July 30, 2020

On booking directly with hotel: - Given the great cancellation policy when you book directly through the Grand Palladium website, we have asked for clarification on this, versus booking with our travel agent. - You CAN book directly on the GP website and forego our travel agent. - ** We’ll have to keep track of your reservation on our own if you choose this route, so please EMAIL US with your travel dates and the names of all staying in the room(s), adults and children. - https://www.palladiumhotelgroup.com/en/hotels/mexico/rivieramaya/trs-yucatan-hotel/rooms - As a reminder, most guests are staying in TRS Yucatan which is adults only. White Sand is the family friendly option! On booking with our travel agent, Michelle: - If you book through the travel agent you can still make flexible payments on your room after making a minimum deposit. The full balance is due to her on Sept 3rd. If you book after Sept 3rd, the full balance is due at the time of booking. - We highly recommend purchasing the optional travel insurance, which must be done at the time of booking. - Perks to booking with the travel agent: we can request our rooms be grouped more closely together, she can price match to the GP website rates if they are lower, it is easier for us to keep track of your reservation and travel dates, her rates include shuttle transportation to and from the airport. Plus, in the case that anything has to be moved around, she will do all the leg work. Sometimes it pays to have a real person on your side! - Book through the travel agent here: www.itsroetime.com - Michelle's contact info: michelle@destify.com, call 312-436-2828, text 312-685-2778

Updates in light of COVID-19?!

July 20, 2020

Updates: As you may have imagined, we have struggled with what we should do about our wedding plans. 2020 just is NOT the year anyone could have ever imagined! Our wedding will hopefully go on as planned, basically as long as travel to Mexico from the U.S. is not restricted come November, and the resort is open, we’ll be there to get hitched with whoever would like to join us! If you are not comfortable traveling, we of course, understand completely! Please update your RSVP here on the website. If you want to wait it out and make the decision a little ways down the road, we can do that too! I will update here with the last possible date you can choose to book- have to speak with resort and travel agents, to be sure. I’m guessing early to mid September sometime. If you’re down to join us, we’d be thrilled to have you! We take risks doing just about anything these days, so if this is one risk you’re willing to take, then so be it. Again if not, we understand completely. FYI- resort staff are taking ALL the precautions with PPE. Self-serve buffets will not be in use. Our main wedding events (ceremony & beach bash reception) will be held outside (weather permitting). Most likely the resort will be operating at decreased guest capacity which should make for a *fairly* safe environment, especially with all the additional precautions. There is posted information on the Grand Palladium website about all the precautions they are taking at the resort. If we HAVE to postpone, any money paid toward your booking with the travel agent will be transferred to a new booking for the new wedding date. Airlines have been very flexible with cancellations, but have heard it’s easiest if you book flights directly, and not through Orbitz or Expedia, and the like. More info to come! As always, let us know if you have questions. Love, Jimmy & Sarah
