Maid of Honor
Mary Kate and Helen attended the Denver Publishing Institute . . . during different years. It wasn't until May 2014 that the two met for brunch on the recommendation of friends. Best NYC recommendation yet!
Best Man
Pete is not only Bill's brother, but was also his best man in 2012, so naturally he is returning the favor. When Bill learned of Pete's imminent proposal in Cleveland over Christmas, he immediately assumed Best Man duties and suggested the perfect spot (Doan Brook).
Bridesmaid
Mary Kate introduced Megan and Helen, not knowing Helen would call Megan from an empty Brooklyn apartment, desperate for a third roommate. They've lived together for almost five years, and Helen can't imagine navigating NYC or her late twenties without Megan.
Groomsman
Jack and Pete go all way the way back. From music to sports to video games, they shared everything growing up. Though they're officially cousins, one could easily confuse them as simply lifelong friends, or even brothers.
Bridesmaid
Krista grew up a short drive from Helen in Colorado, which is why the two met in Connecticut. A fellow Penguin, the two became quick friends, and eventually roommates. Krista also takes incredible vacations, which Helen now assumes she's earned a spot on.
Groomsman
A miraculous act of fate (their last names are next to each other alphabetically) brought the two together in high school. They never shared answers to tests, but if they did, they would probably have an intricate hand signalling and coughing system to do so.
Bridesman
Adam was Helen's first boyfriend in the seventh grade. It didn't work out. But the two became best frenemies, and eventually just best friends. No one can make Helen laugh, groan, or sit through 23 hours of an overwritten teen drama TV show like Adam can.
Groomsman
Also friends since high school (with conveniently close names alphabetically), Bryan and Pete independently got into creative fields and continue to share a love of the outdoors, craft beer, and the Browns.
Bridesmaid
Helen remembers the first time she saw Jessie: It was the fourth grade, Jessie was the new girl in class, and Helen was certain she was a witch. For some reason Jessie has forgiven that, and the two have been friends for almost twenty years.
Groomsman
When college started, Luke and Pete were just awkward dudes into weird music and movies. 4 years later, they were great friends, and into even weirder music and movies. They continue their friendship with trips between Utah and New York, hiking and camping when they can.
Bridesmaid
Sarah was the inspiration, motivation, and guru behind Helen's decision to run the New York City Marathon in 2016. So you could say Sarah is the reason Helen broke her hip... but you could also say she's been a source of endless support, kindness, laughter, and advice.
Groomsman
When they were assigned to the same group in a college class, they were bound to be friends. Their humor, hijinks, and creative projects have kept them close for a decade.
Bridesmaid
One of the biggest benefits of marrying Pete is gaining Molly as a sister! Helen is inspired by Molly's independent spirit, her exciting travels and adventures, her wide knowledge of impressive facts, and her genuine kindness.
Groomsman
Friends in college and even better friends after, Pete and Ben lived together in 3 different apartments over the course of 2 years, and figured out their early 20s together. Combined, they believe their humor is unparalleled.
Groomsman
After meeting on the set of Brain Games, the two became fast friends while sharing more than a few Miller High Life's at their favorite Brooklyn watering hole, Old Stanley's. They figured out the meaning of life a few times, but can't quite remember what it was.
