FAQs

Please read these FAQs, as most requests for special requirements are due by 13th May. Please reach out to Helena or Otto if you have any further questions.
Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

Having you with us on our special day is the best gift we could ask for. Though should you wish to help us keep the celebrations going, a cash gift towards our honeymoon fund would be greatly appreciated: https://prezola.com/buy/view/230126

Question

When should I arrive?

Answer

Day guests: please arrive by 1 pm, as our ceremony will start at 1:30 pm promptly. Evening guests: please arrive at 6:30 pm.

Question

What are the food and drink options?

Answer

Our venue offers one standard menu for all guests unless dietary restrictions are specified, so please notify Helena or Otto by 13th May if you have any issues with any of the following food. The three course sit-down lunch will feature a scallop mousse starter; caponata with quinoa, artichoke and kale main; and a salted honey tart with vanilla ice cream; followed by petit fours and tea and coffee. Evening food will feature fish & chips; aubergine tacos; and cupcakes. Alcohol will be provided throughout the day. This will include Pimms cocktails, wine (red and white) and a champagne toast. Soft drinks and non-alcoholic alternatives will also be provided. Our venue is not doing an open bar package, so there will be a cash bar available for guests who want any additional drinks outside of what is being provided.

Question

Can I bring my own food / drinks?

Answer

For allergen reasons, our venue does not allow external food or drink to be brought in, so please refrain from doing so. Details on provided food and drink can be found in these FAQs and "schedule" and "RSVP" pages. Please let Helena or Otto know as soon as possible if you have any concerns or questions.

Question

Will the wedding be outside or indoors?

Answer

London weather is infamously unpredictable. Our venue features a mixture of indoor rooms, a covered terrace and open garden overlooking the river. Weather permitting, we will have the ceremony indoors, cocktail hour on the terrace, and then move indoors for the formal meal. Evening activities will take place indoors and on the terrace, and the garden will remain accessible until 11pm. The garden has a grass lawn, so please wear grass-friendly shoes!

Question

Can I take photos?

Answer

We're having an unplugged ceremony so no phones then, please. After that, feel free to take as many photos as you wish - and please send them to us after!

Question

Can I smoke / vape?

Answer

Our venue has a strict no smoking / vaping policy throughout, including in the outdoor garden area. Otto and Helena will be liable to pay penalty / damage fees if guests smoke or vape, so please refrain from doing so. If you wish to smoke or vape, there is a private gate at the foot of the garden that leads directly onto the riverfront. Please exit via the gate and re-enter the venue when ready.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by searching for your name on the 'RSVP' tab, by April 20 2025. We are doing things electronically, due to expecting large numbers of guests travelling from overseas. So early RSVPs are appreciated! You can also contact Helena or Otto with any questions.

Question

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

Bingham Riverhouse is approximately a 15 minute walk, 10 minute bus journey or 6 minute drive from Richmond train and Tube (metro) station. It is right on the riverfront, so is also accessible by riverside walk or boat.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code is summer garden party. Think colourful, bright, floral patterns and comfortable fabrics! Please bear in mind that English weather can be unpredictable and that we hope to host our ceremony outside, so we would recommend comfortable footwear that will not get stuck in the soft grass.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Our venue has limited space to accommodate guests, so we ask that you please only bring a plus one if that is specified on your invite. If you believe someone has been left off the guest list, please get in touch with Otto or Helena.

Question

Can I bring my children?

Answer

We understand that childcare can often be difficult to arrange at short notice, and that we are asking some guests to travel long distances, so children are welcome at our wedding. If you have a child that we can not specifically included in your invite, please get in touch with Otto or Helena.

Question

How do I get to Richmond?

Answer

For those flying, London has four major airports: Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Luton. Heathrow and Gatwick are the best positioned for Richmond, with Heathrow a 30 minute drive or 45-60 minute Tube (metro) journey away. We do not recommend Luton or Stansted airports, as they are on the opposite side of the city to Richmond. Our recommended public transport option from Heathrow is to take the Piccadilly Tube line to Hammersmith, and change there for a Richmond-Bound District Line Tube. Gatwick airport is approximately a 50-60 minute drive from Richmond, or 50-60 minutes by train. To get to Richmond from Gatwick, we recommend taking a train to Clapham Junction, and changing there for a train to Richmond. Overall, public transport options in London are plentiful, and we recommend these above trying to drive (which is on the left hand side of the road and will be unfamiliar for many guests) or taking taxis, which are likely to be slower than underground options due to traffic. Buses are a much cheaper alternative option to taxis, with unlimited bus hours within one hour costing £1.75. Almost all public transport can be paid for by contactless debit / credit card. Stations are usually well signposted and have free maps available. If you intend to use public transport, we recommend downloading the free Citymapper app, which offers more accurate timings and more expansive transport options than Google Maps.

Question

Where can I stay?

Answer

Our venue has a very limited selection of 13 rooms available for the night of July 20th. If you wish to reserve one of these, please get in touch with Otto and Helena, who can send more information. Please note that these rooms are unlikely to be available for more than one night, due to other weddings likely to occur during the same week. The following hotels are larger, come recommended by our venue and are all within a five minute drive: - Harbour Hotel - Petersham Hotel - Richmond Hill Hotel Richmond has great transport links, including a train station and two London Tube (metro) lines: the District Line and Overground Line. This can expand your options to neighbouring areas, where you will find a range of hotels and Air BnB options to accommodate a range of budgets.
