Cascade Lakes Highway

Cascade Lakes Highway, Bend, OR 97702

Go up the Cascade Lakes Highway and be surrounded by the mountains. There are plenty of shorter hikes and lakes just off the highway, as well as bigger hikes of 6+ miles. Some of these require a permit, so we have attached the link. Reach out if you have any questions. We are happy to answer!

Tumalo Falls

Bend Has Lots of Breweries

Bend Has Lots of Breweries

Bend has many breweries throughout the city... Here are some of our favorites! Deschutes Brewery (Danny's favorite) there are two locations, one downtown and the tap room, where you can schedule a tour 10 Barrel Brewery has delicious pizza as well Bend Brewing Company is right on the river Spider City Brewing Bends women-owned brewery Crux has some of the best views of the Mountains Some others we enjoy are GoodLife, Silver Moon, The Cellar, Worthy, and Sunriver.

Bend Coffee

Bend Coffee

While Kelly was in Grad School, she logged many hours at local coffee shops, and while her favorite is no more, here are some of the favorites: Lone Pine has the best coffee in town. Strictly Organic- while we were in the van, we spent a lot of time parked outside using the wifi, but in addition to that, they have tasty coffee and the best breakfast burritos. Loony Bean and the Commons are both right on the river. You can sit and enjoy the view or get your coffee to go and walk the river trail.

The Best Eats

The Best Eats

Wild Rose: The best Thai food Kelly and I have ever had, we have yet to order something we don't like! Spork: Tasty street food from around the world. Spicy Pork Noodles are #1. J dubs: When you don't want to break the bank anymore and want a solid cheeseburger. Don't be scared of the deviled egg of the day either. Bosa: Get fancy-ish and eat some insanely good pasta. This is our go-to celebration restaurant. Bar Rio: This is the happy hour go-to for tapas and a cheap tamarind whiskey sour. Blue Eyes Burger and Fries: Get down on a smash burger and plenty of fries. McMenamins: Half Hotel/movie theater/soaking pool/secret hidden bar. Go for some beer and food, and soak! The Victorian: Our classic brunch go-to. Sparrow: Our favorite bakery, amazing pastries, get the Ocean Roll El Sancho: Best taco shop in town! Miyagi Ramen: Guess what they serve? It's warm, rich, and tasty. Yoli: Incredible Korean food that would make anyone happy.

Cocktails and Wine

Cocktails and Wine

San Simon- Best Cocktails in town and their charcuterie boards are tasty too. The Flamingo Room- is owned by San Simon, and some will argue that these are the best cocktails in town. Hasta que Olvidemos- also the same owners, BUT this is a wine bar, and you can only find their wine in-house. Cellar 65- Bends speakeasy (not much of a speakeasy if it's on Google) McMenamins Broom Closet- Bends less than secret, secret bar. Rapa Nui Tiki Bar- Pretend you're at a tropical destination wedding. Evoke Winery- a fun wine Bar if that's your vibe. Corey's Bar & Grill- If you want a dive bar and microwaved late-night snacks, go to Corey's. You will find a table and only 2 people at the Bar (we are pretty sure that the business is a front.)
