The truth is, throughout our relationship, we’ve never had everyone in one place. Our families haven’t all met. Our best friends don’t know each other. Somehow, over 11 years, we've gone all this time without a full crossover episode - and this wedding is finally it. That’s why we dreamed up a full weekend, not just a single night. We wanted time for awkward hellos to turn into inside jokes. For new friendships to spark over shared bottles of wine, stuffed plates of our favourite food, and the collective pain of a good hangover. We wanted it to feel less like an event, and more like a blurry, joyful, unforgettable weekend with the people who know us best. We know it's a big lift. But we also know this will be one of the few times in our lives when all the people we love most will be together—and that means everything to us. We can’t wait to see you. And we really can’t wait to see you all in the same place. ✨
They met in Milan during study abroad, on the first day of Italian class. Natalie didn’t have the textbook (classic). Hector, ever the responsible one, did. Noticing her and her friends without it, he walked over, took the seat beside her, and offered to share. It was a simple act of kindness, but one that sparked an undeniable connection. They soon realized they were neighbors in the same student housing, and a natural rhythm began: grabbing pizza together, making each other meals after long travel days, going out dancing and ending the night with late-night Italian burgers, even squeezing through caves on a spontaneous trip to Budapest. Their first official date was at a mozzarella bar at the Duomo, a meal they still talk about, and by the end of that night, they had already decided they’d try to make it work beyond Milan. After the program, a year of long distance followed. It was full of mismatched time zones, video calls, and every excuse to see each other. Eventually, Hector moved to Toronto, where they spent the next eight years building a life together: five apartments, two careers, a shared love of powerlifting, and a crash course in Canadian winter (tobogganing included). They created a home filled with cozy nights, deep friendships, spontaneous travel (like a Greece trip with KZ), and frequent escapes to California for sun, beaches, family time, and Hector’s favorite hometown eats. In 2023, they moved to Berkeley for a new adventure, adding wine tastings, road trips, and a band Hector started with classmates (with Natalie as the ever-dedicated manager and number one fan) to the mix. Their home once again became a place where good people and good memories gathered. Then came August 2024. Back in Toronto for a visit, Hector told Natalie they were headed to an MBA event on Toronto Island. In reality, he brought her to Frida’s Garden, overlooking the skyline and their old apartment, and proposed. A hidden photographer captured the moment, and champagne sealed it. From Milan to Toronto to California and beyond, it’s been 11 years of laughter, growth, and love. They can’t wait to celebrate the next chapter with all of you.
