We met on Facebook in a widowed grief support group. We were just friends helping each other through a tough time in our life and it quickly turned into so much more than that. We finally first met in Chattanooga, TN on September 23, 2017 and realized we were in love with each other.
Frank took me to the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The last exhibit is a shark tank in a darkened area. As we looked out over the sharks he reminded me that our first date was to an aquarium. He then got down on one knee and pulled the ring out. I initially panicked as I get embarrassed very easily and grabbed him to come back up. In that moment of panic I realized he had planned this in a way to not embarrass me in the darkened area we were in at the time. I quickly said yes through tears in my eyes and we stood there at the shark tank taking in the moment.
The reason we picked this time frame is we are both WWII history buffs and enjoy watching documentaries on the time period. My parents were both born during this time as well. Our wedding is 1940s themed in honor of those facts so we went a step farther and decided to represent how Fallon, NV would have been during this time. Our town is a farming town and has a long history of farmers. NAS Fallon opened during the 1940s and with that being why we are here in Fallon we wanted to incorporate all these aspects in our wedding.
