Please join us for one night or three in the meadows and forests of Silver Falls, a waterfall sanctuary! We're thrilled to bring together our people in this beautiful place. It means so much to us to have you witness and participate in our ceremony of love and co-creation. Together and individually, we're grateful to have met many lands, shared in many communities, and given ourselves to many devotions-- it's incredibly meaningful to us to bring together folks from our many worlds in one place, to begin and continue this cycle of our life. Our venue at the Old Ranch is a five minute drive to the South Falls trailhead for Silver Falls, a true wonder of water and earth. The Old Ranch venue itself has a wide open meadow & a vaulted indoor space, both of which will flex to host sacred moments, meals, creative adventures and whatever togetherness emerges throughout the days and nights. Our events section tells you more about some highlights of the weekend & lodging options. Regardless of where you're staying, when you're arriving, or what all you're participating in for the wedding, everyone is welcome to show up as early as Friday morning, to join us for daytime meals (please read more about this and be sure to RSVP in our events section.) Please feel free to make our venue your hearth and hub as you enjoy Silver Falls, before and after the wedding & reception themselves, knowing that the bride and groom will be in deep preparation for the big ceremony and may or may not be available to fully socialize till the big night. We'll ask for the Old Ranch area to be private to wedding party & support only for a three hour window from 3-6pm, prior to ceremony. If you're already onsite, there are lots of other areas to explore, or space at the New Ranch to relax in! Our dearest longings for this time are for togetherness, sacred presence, creative beauty-making, delicious revelry, and the support of your love as we step wholeheartedly through this passage.
Our first interaction came about from the confluence of many stories, many paths walked. As many of you know, Heather has hosted a freeform dance in Portland going on 9 years. This dance is her way of offering an safe, co-creative space for movement, personal ritual, and practice, a perfect container for exploring the depths of oneself, alone & together. It was here that we met. At the confluence of dance, expression, exploration and musey adventure. Weeks prior, Fez began dancing in Asheville NC at their ecstatic dance, where for the first time in his life he found, as he says, "his inner ballerina." After dancing for 8 weeks in Asheville, he was on his way back to Portland for a project. A mutual friend of both of ours called Heather and asked if she would be willing to hold a clue to a scavenger hunt for Fez, ultimately leading him to the Sunday morning dance to find Heather. She said yes, and neither of us knew what would ensue in the years to follow. Fez received a beautiful letter in the mail, with clues to send him around the city, his first being, "Go to Muse Dance, find the fiery red-haired Goddess Heather... she has you next clue." It was late Saturday night, and Fez googled "Muse Dance" and made a plan to be there the following morning. As usual, Heather was at the Bossanova Ballroom to setup Muse. She worked with the crew to set the space, and set up her greeting table at the top of the landing. Fez had a quick coffee while eagerly biking over to the ballroom wondering to himself, "How am I going to find this Heather?" He parked his steed, and strode up the stairs, the first guest that day, and at the peak to the landing his gaze met Heather's. Her eyes sparkled as she spoke, "Are you Fez?" Her love lights came on as she said this, his heart fluttered as he replied, "Yes, are you Heather?" "I have your next clue," she said.
