Trailside Museums & Zoo
Trailside Museums and Zoo invites you for a pleasant walk. You will learn about local ecology and history. You will see native wildlife close up in exhibits as you walk through the forest and see native gardens. You will take in spectacular vistas created by geologic forces over millions of years. On your journey, look about on the ground, in the trees, on the rocks, in the ponds and flying through the forest. You may see native wildlife thriving at Trailside. Trailside Museums and Zoo is a self-guided nature trail. You will walk on a paved section of the Appalachian Trail, a footpath from Georgia to Maine. There’s a statute of the early American poet Walt Whitman and small stone museums where you will learn more about wildlife, geology and history.
Bear Mountain Ice Rink
Outdoor ice skating has been hosted at Bear Mountain since 1922. Admission is $5 and Skate Rental is $10.
Bear Mountain Carousel
Built in 2001, the Merry Go Round Pavilion is a stone and timber rotunda featuring the same Adirondack “Great Camp” architecture of Bear Mountain Inn. Featuring a diverse array of animals indigenous to the park and surrounded by hand-painted rounding boards that celebrate the park's rich 100-year history, this whimsical masterpiece stands as every child's dream and a portal to nostalgia for adults. Bring your kids and enjoy a pleasant ride on this fan-favorite.
Hiking & Walking Trails
There is an abundance of different hiking and walking trails located in the Bear Mountain area for you to choose from. Take advantage of the many miles of hiking trails throughout Bear Mountain State Park.
Hiker's Café
Hiker’s Cafe features grab ‘n’ go options (sandwiches, salads and breakfast items) – perfect for the day hiker or those just looking for a relaxing respite in a casual atmosphere. Hiker’s Café is located just inside the east entrance of the Bear Mountain Inn on the first floor (nearest to the parking kiosk).
Bear Mountain Spa
Located on the 3rd floor, The Spa at Bear Mountain Inn offers customized treatments to leave your mind feeling serene and your body feeling renewed including personalized massages, facials, and body treatments.
Restaurant 1915
Named for the year that the inn was built, Restaurant 1915 offers an eclectic mix of creative global cuisine with locally sourced ingredients. This historic restaurant and bar epitomize the Adirondack aesthetic with its soaring ceiling, extraordinary woodwork, the massive stone fireplace, and views from every window that bring the park — and its peaceful lake — right into the room.
