Alex and Heather’s love story began on the winter solstice, December 21st, 2011, when they met after both finishing undergrad that year. Alex was in Atlanta on a rotation with GE, while Heather was working in Quality Assurance at a Pharma company. Their first date at Five Seasons microbrewery felt like they had known each other forever, spending hours talking and dreaming about the future. On their second date, they joked about moving to NYC together, not knowing that just a year and a half later, they would do exactly that. In July 2013, they moved into a cozy one-bedroom apartment in Park Slope, Brooklyn and soon adopted two cats, Romeo and Cooey. Their journey continued as they bought a house in the NYC suburbs, creating a perfect home with a backyard for the dogs they would later adopt on Valentine's Day in 2021—Heather’s special gift from Alex. Now, thirteen years later, they’re about to be married on the night of the winter solstice, continuing the life they’ve built together with love and laughter.
