Several reasons! 1) We knew we were both going to be emotional wrecks (in a good way!) on our wedding day, and we wanted an intimate, secluded place to exchange vows. We couldn’t have asked for a more romantic day. 2) We wanted to have a very short engagement, but planning a wedding in under six months can be…overwhelming. Splitting our wedding day and our reception allowed us to have the best of both worlds. 3) It’s affordable! We were able to spread out our deposits and payments by doing this, which gave us time to plan and save so we could host an incredible celebration with the people we love.
No, not in the traditional sense, as we already tied the knot! However, we are looking forward to sharing our wedding video with you between cocktails and dinner. We directed and produced the video ourselves. The short film will feature our ceremony, our journey to Georgia, and some documentary-style behind-the-scenes footage.
Yes!! However, we do not have designated childcare or activities at the reception. Please ensure children are supervised at all times during the event. Water, soda, and juices are available at the bar. Please also make sure all children are included in your RSVP so we can accommodate headcount for dinner!
Cocktail/Semi-formal! Our venue is indoor/outdoor. We will have a bar and games set up outside, so consider bringing a wrap/shawl/jacket if it gets chilly. There are heaters, but we’d rather you be comfortable. October is usually pleasant in Connecticut, but it can get down to the 40s in the evenings. Our reception colors will be moody jewel tones. Think rich emerald green, amethyst purple, dark ruby red, sapphire blue…maybe even sprinkled with morganite pink or gold accents. If you’d like to match the vibe, that’s where I’d start! Not at all required of you, though. Sarah will be wearing her wedding dress, so please: no white, ladies!
We have tried to be generous with our plus ones. Generally speaking, we are including plus ones for individuals who are married, in long term relationships, and/or cohabitating with a partner. If you think there’s been an oversight, please let us know ASAP. That being said, if you don’t fall into any of those categories…please don’t ask for a plus one.
We have booked Old World Pizza Truck for the reception! They will be serving freshly-made, New Haven-style, *unlimited* pizzas by the patio during the event. Did we mention unlimited? OWPT also provides a delicious mesclun salad to start, as well as ice cream, cappuccino, and espresso for dessert. The pizzas can be made to order for all guests, especially if you have a dietary restriction. Please tell the pizza staff directly on the day of the event if you have an allergy or other restriction that needs to be accommodated. They can make pizzas that are vegan, vegetarian, lactose-free, gluten-free, or Halal upon request, and advise you on any menu items to avoid if you have an allergy (eg. nuts, dairy, shellfish, etc.)
It is cash bar! Soda, juice, and water are also available for kids or non-drinkers.
