Our story began in New York City on a cold winter's day in February of 2017. It was the NFL Superbowl LI, New England Patriots vs Atlanta Falcons and a group of Aussies, English, Irish and Scottish gathered at the Brass Monkey bar in Meatpacking. Chrissy spotted a dashing Aussie lad that she hadn't met before, and went to introduce herself (her friends would exaggerate that she b-lined towards him). Special thanks to Chris Mullins who invited Matt, as he had just moved from Germany. Fast forward ~3 months later to a cafeteria by Rockefeller Center, our meet-cute was when Matt opened the café door and entered Chrissy in a “beautiful brown coat, hair blowing in the wind.” We arranged a lunch date where Matt explained he needed to find another job in New York. Chrissy offered to help him out given she was previously a headhunter at Michael Page. Unbeknownst to her, Matt was an Accountant and coincidentally her firm, Accordion, was hiring. To cut a long story short, Chrissy drafted the employment contract and couldn’t resist his Aussie charm but, it was only after his promotion that she made it 'official'. After moving in together in 2019, surviving a 15hr bus ride to Toronto, climbing Mt. Fuji, traveling parts north of the equator, and surviving many lockdowns and hotel quarantining, Matt proposed at Cottesloe Beach on January 26, 2021.
