Please R.S.V.P. by August 31st. Click the "RSVP" button on the home page and follow the prompts to let us know you're coming. Or, use the "RSVP" tab, located in the menu of tabs toward the top of the webpage. You can let us your meal preferences and other information. You can always change your responses as long as it is final by August 31st.
Gifts are completely optional. We understand it is expensive to travel from out of town and primarily care to just be around our friends and family on this special day. If you're feeling generous though, we did set up a registry through Honeyfund. You can find it by clicking on the "Registry" tab, or by copying and pasting this link in your browser: https://www.honeyfund.com/site/hayleypatrick-registry
If you have a guest you'd like to bring, don't hesitate to ask! I'm sure we can find room.
The ceremony and reception venues are part of the same property, attached to, but not affiliated with, a golf course. The ceremony will be outdoors while the reception will take place across the street in a banquet hall and on the adjacent patio space. Though not on the water, you may be able to see glimpses of the ocean as you walk between the ceremony and reception spaces.
The wedding ceremony and reception will take place from 5 - 11pm at one location. A more specific timeline will be posted here within a week of you receiving your more formal wedding invitation.
We do ask that guests arrive at least 15 minutes early. Wedgewood San Clemente allows guest to arrive to the ceremony location as early as 30 minutes before the start time.
Yes, there is a lot adjacent to the venue; however, the lot is shared with a golf course and may a bit busy since it is a Saturday. The address of the lot is: 203-205 E Avenida Magdalena, San Clemente, CA 92672 If you are staying at either of the San Clemente hotels we listed on the Travel page, you will only need to walk from your hotel room to the ceremony, as both hotels have underground parking.
Yes, Hayley's mom, Laura, will be hosting an informal Welcome Dinner at her house in Newport Beach the evening prior to the wedding day. We hope you can come! Laura will also be hosting a very informal breakfast/brunch with donuts and bagels on Sunday morning. This is an option for those who might want to stop by before heading out, but by no means should anyone feel obligated to come (don't feel guilty if you'd rather go to the beach!). Her house is about an hour drive from the wedding ceremony location, but about 15 minutes from the John Wayne Airport (SNA). More information on logistics can be found on the Travel page.
If you're arriving early on Friday and plan to go to the Welcome Dinner, we recommend you check out the beaches nearby: Big Corona, Little Corona, Pirate's Cove, or the Newport Municipal Beach. Newport Municipal Beach is a large beach with a boardwalk. Little Corona and Pirate's cove are much smaller and quieter. You are welcome to drop luggage off at Laura's house. You are also welcome to clean up in her bathrooms if needed too. If you have kids, you are welcome to bring them over early for swimming as there is also a pool is Laura's backyard.
Historically, September in San Clemente is warm with an typical high in the 70's or 80's and low in the 60's. There is also a small possibility it could be breezy or windy from Santa Ana winds at this time of the year.
Finally, an important question! Since our ceremony is a little late in the day, we'll be serving passed hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour. We are hoping everyone will have their dinner in front of them by 7:30pm.
We recommend renting a car and driving down to the venue. Unfortunately, most of southern California is devoid of reasonable public transportation options. Closer to the date of the wedding, we will try to connect people that are interested in carpooling down to San Clemente and back up north.
If you *really* didn't want to rent a car or don't mind being somewhat inconvenienced, it is possible to take a train down to San Clemente. We'd really only recommend this option if you were able to take the train during daylight hours as tracks run parallel to the beach and offer beautiful ocean views for the majority of the ride's duration. From the John Wayne Airport, you would need to take an Uber or Lyft to (or be dropped off at) the Santa Ana or Irvine train stations, which are about 15-20 minutes away. From these either of these stations, it is less than 30 minutes to the San Clemente Pier stop and only about $12-15 one-way. The San Clemente Pier stop is right on the beach and near hotels and restaurants. From here, it is about a 5-minute drive up to the wedding venue. You can learn more and book tickets using Amtrak's website: https://www.amtrak.com/home.html
Unfortunately, the three hotels we listed in the Travel page will not be guaranteeing any rooms nor any formal block discounts to any of our guests; however, the Travelodge did tell us if you call and mention you are a guest of our wedding, they will give you a 5-10% discount from the price you see listed online.
Check back in later for more FAQ's. We plan to add additional information to website by the end of the year and will to make updates as needed.
