Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Hayden Claypool and Rafael Calvo Carrillo
One of our favorite things to do is eat—especially when it comes to Spanish food and the vibrant culture surrounding it. With that in mind, we’ve got a few recommendations for you while you're here! Rather than searching for restaurants online, we suggest taking a walk and choosing a place based on what looks appealing or is nearby. The best way to experience new flavors is to pick a spot, order a drink, and with that drink, you'll be served complimentary tapas unique to that place. Instead of diving straight into larger menu items, we recommend hopping from one spot to the next and trying something new at each place. This is a fun and affordable way to discover what tapas you love (or don't!), all while exploring the local vibe. Remember, in Spain, the culture is all about sipping and snacking throughout the day—so don’t worry about one big meal. Take your time, enjoy the process, and savor the experience!
Plaza de España

Plaza de España

Plaza de España, Madrid, MD, Spain

Plaza de España is a vibrant, open square in the heart of Madrid where history, architecture, and local life come together. Surrounded by iconic landmarks like the grand Edificio España and Torre de Madrid, the plaza features beautiful fountains, green spaces, and a striking monument to Miguel de Cervantes, with statues of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza. It’s a perfect spot to relax, people-watch, or take in the mix of modern and classic Madrid. Just steps from Gran Vía, it’s also a great starting point for exploring the city’s cultural and shopping hubs.

Tiny sandwiches, big flavor, and super affordable prices. It’s the perfect spot to try classic Spanish ingredients, sip a cold beer, and enjoy the local vibe without breaking the bank. 🇪🇸🥖🍻
