Question

Why is there so much extra traffic in Tulsa?

Answer

There is a Bassmaster Classic event happening in Tulsa from the 22nd to the 24th. There are an approximated 60,000 patrons attending that event and it is being held at the BOK Center, which is near the downtown area. Parking may become an issue in the downtown area as well as traffic. If you are staying in the area it may be best to utilize services such as Uber or Lyft to get around and leave your car at the hotel.

Question

Are kids welcome at the wedding?

Answer

Due to the nature of the venue, we are encouraging guests with children under 12 to leave them at home or with a babysitter. This doesn't mean we don't want kids to celebrate with us and will welcome those who do attend. However, we are liable for any damages to the historic property or any of the artwork and as such we are asking you to take that into consideration and be the judge of your own situation.

Question

Where can we park?

Answer

There is a free parking lot on site. The parking lot can be tight and oversized vehicles are encouraged to arrive a bit early to secure a non-parking garage spot. There is available parking for 170 vehicles which should be more than enough, please do not park in any reserved spots. If you plan to drink, we highly encourage you to utilize Lyft or Uber as they are prevalent around the area.

Question

Do we need tickets for the venue?

Answer

No. the venue is closed to the public on Mondays and Tuesdays and entrance to the wedding is included with our package. However, the galleries will be closed so if you are wanting to tour the museum we suggest checking it out before or after the wedding. More information for visiting the venue can be found here: https://philbrook.org/visit/plan-your-visit/

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We are suggesting semi-formal wear. Please keep in mind that the ceremony will take place outside, cocktail hour will offer both indoor and outdoor space, and the reception will be fully inside. It is late March in Oklahoma so keep an eye on the weather when deciding what to wear, it can be a bit unpredictable. Here is a link for the weather in the area, check back closer to the event to see the predicted weather. https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lon=-95.96832275390625&lat=36.123251826034476

Question

Where do we go to get to the wedding?

Answer

The address for Philbrook Museum of Art is 2727 S Rockford Road Tulsa, OK 74114, this is located in a neighborhood. The wedding will take place in the back gardens of the historic Philbrook Villa, you will enter through the original villa doors off of the circle drive to the right of the main driveway, from there staff can assist you in directions.

Question

How accessible is the venue?

Answer

Getting to the ceremony site will involve stairs that are outside and can be weathered and uneven in places. There is an accessibility cart that can drive anyone who requires assistance to and from the ceremony site. The cocktail hour and reception will be partially or fully indoors where there are both stairs and an elevator available. Please let the bride or groom know ahead of time if you will be requiring any assistance, and what type of assistance, so we can make sure to accommodate everyone attending.

Question

Is there going to be a bar?

Answer

Yes, there will be a bar during cocktail hour and during the reception. It will be an open bar, but the bartenders always appreciate tips. If you plan on drinking please consider utilizing Uber, Lyft, or a designated driver.

Question

When is the wedding?

Answer

The wedding will start at 5pm, we encourage guests to get to the venue a little bit early, but no earlier than 30 minutes prior as you will not be admitted that early. This will give you time to take in the surroundings and not feel rushed down to the ceremony site. The festivities will end at 10pm. For a more complete time line, please visit the Schedule tab which will be published closer to the date.

Question

Can I bring my gift to the wedding?

Answer

Your presence is present enough, but should you wish to bring a gift to our wedding, there will be a card & gift table for your convenience.

Question

What if I have a dietary restriction I forgot to include in the RSVP?

Answer

Please let either the bride or groom know as soon as possible! Dinner will be plated and it is important for us to know what to avoid for your plate.

Question

Are the ceremony and reception at different locations?

Answer

Short answer, no. Longer answer, they are at the same venue in different locations. The locations are close together but do require walking on uneven stone steps, so we suggest not wearing your tallest, skinniest heels.

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

We love photos! We do ask that you refrain from taking photos during the ceremony, we’d like that time to be unplugged and we will post photos from our professional photographer once they are ready. For the rest of the wedding, we encourage guests to locate one of the QR codes posted around cocktail hour and the reception for a fun interactive photo opportunity.
