I know many of you have already heard this story, and though Dane and I have told it many times, it felt right to finally put pen to paper, as it were, since we're finally tying the knot. So, buckle up, friends, for the story of our first rodeo. When Dane and I met on February 15, 2020, at the San Antonio rodeo, neither of us were expecting to find the other - nor did we imagine our relationship would move so fast. What turned into a quick meeting before Keith Urban emerged to close out a night of bull riding, mutton bustin', and too many cans of cheap beer, turned into hours of chatting about everything and nothing. He was a good listener, and I was a fast talker - traits we still bear to this day. A week later, we went on our first date. From drinking bourbon at Bar 1919 to chatting about how many kids we wanted over dinner at Maverick to what was supposed to be a night cap at Jet Setter in Downtown San Antonio, our first date lasted well into the next evening. From then on, we spent almost every day together. Three weeks later, the world shut down and Dane moved into my 650-square foot apartment. Three months after that at my family's ranch in Comfort, TX, a favorite place of ours, I ambushed Dane (thank you, tequila) and drunkenly told him I loved him. He loved me, too. When I think back to sitting across from Dane on our first date, I knew he was the man I was going to marry. I let myself fall in love quickly, which, looking back, was one of the best decisions I had ever made. Four years later, when Dane proposed among the clouds in Pisgah National Forest, another one of our favorite places, I thought back to the man who sat across from me four years prior - the man I knew was going to be mine forever - and said yes; another one of my better decisions, if I do say so myself. Whether you've been part of our journey since the beginning or have joined us along the way, Dane and I are so thankful for your love, friendship, and support over the years and cannot wait to kick off this new chapter in our lives with you in 2026!
