We're getting married!

We grew up just a few houses apart after Alice moved to Maine in 2002. What started as a childhood friendship grew into something more over the years. Alice went to SUNY Plattsburgh to study graphic design, but along the way, she discovered her passion for teaching. She transferred to UMaine Orono to pursue her teaching certification, while Matt was working on his graduate degree in civil engineering. In the spring of 2017, Matt was Alice’s date to her sorority formal, which was when we officially started dating. Soon after, Alice transferred to UMaine, and while she earned her degree in Child Development and Family Relations, Matt focused on revamping his family’s business—building custom homes. After graduating, Alice began teaching kindergarten and later earned her master’s degree in Teaching Speakers of Other Languages. Meanwhile, Matt expanded his work in homebuilding and started an oyster farm, Saltwind Seafarm, in Scarborough—bringing together his love of the ocean and passion for sustainable aquaculture. We recently bought a home in Scarborough, not far from where it all began, and now spend our favorite days by the beach and evenings out on the boat in Casco Bay—grateful for where life has taken us and excited for what’s next.
