As soon as possible! This time of year is extremely busy in Lake Tahoe so we recommend making any reservations early on
The wedding venue and accommodations will be in the town of South Lake Tahoe. South Lake Tahoe is right on the border between California and Nevada, a little over an hour away from Reno International Airport (RNO). South Lake Tahoe is also about 2 hours away from Sacramento Airport (SMF) and 3 hours away from San Francisco Airport (SFO), in case you would like to fly into either of these airports, experience the wonderful cities, Napa Valley, and anything else Northern California has to offer.
The South Lake Tahoe Airporter is a public shuttle that can take you directly from the Reno Airport to a number of hotels near the border of Nevada and California for about $30. https://southtahoeairporter.com/
Yes! We will be providing shuttles from the Beach Retreat, as well as a shuttle leaving from the Stateline Corridor (pick up will be at the Tahoe Blue Center parking lot) as well as return to either location after the Reception.
Definitely, Valhalla has many available parking spots; however please be aware that traffic can be very rough this weekend so if you do drive yourselves please provide at least an hour to get to the venue from the Stateline area/Beach Retreat.
Only if you want to! There are many beautiful spots all along the Lake Tahoe region and if you do rent a car I highly recommend visiting Emerald Bay or Zephyr Cove. That being said once you get to South Lake Tahoe the lake, restaurants, shops, golfing and amazing hiking trails are all within walking distance or a short uber ride away. There is also a local transportation system up there and a free ride service if you are traveling locally within the South Lake Tahoe region. The week leading up to, and the week of Forth of July, are an extremely popular time of year for people to visit Lake Tahoe as the weather is usually nice and the area is gorgeous. The benefit of this is there are a lot of things going on in the area - concerts, fireworks etc. However, the downside is the crowds and the traffic this can bring. Thus we do recommend planning accordingly with hotel reservations ASAP and booking any additional restaurant reservations or activities that you would like to arrange while visiting the area. If you would like any specific recommendations please reach out!
