Wedding Party

Meet our friends and family who are walking down the aisle with us!

Ashley

Bride

Ashley is what happens when you mix a giant nerd with the stereotypical basic white girl. Her biggest interests are History, classic literature, Harry Potter, Star Wars, random trivia, traveling at any opportunity, overly priced coffee, and Taylor Swift. She's the middle child of five and chats with her siblings throughout the day every day. She has her B.A. from Berea College in Child and Family Studies and currently works for Amazon as the Workforce Engagement Specialist for Indianapolis. She has two amazing daughters, Autumn and Morgan, who are the light of her life. She also has two cats and a Great Dane. After adding Alex's additional two cats to the house, the humans are officially outnumbered by animals!

Alex

Groom

Who is Alex? To get to know Alex a bit better you should know that he is 80% awkward, 15% charming, and 10% really bad at math. He is the middle child of three siblings. Some of his greatest interests are Spanish, Harry Potter, anime, and most anything nerdy/geeky. He is a high school Spanish teacher/aspiring stay at home bonus dad/husband. Alex loves to travel. In regard to outside the continental United States, Alex has been to Puerto Rico, England, France, and Spain. On weekends you can usually find this devilishly handsome world traveler sleeping, watching Netflix, making the lesson plans that he forgot to make, or cleaning around the house in a fruitless effort to convince his fiancee to allow him to be a stay at home bonus dad/husband. Alex is very excited to be a bonus dad to both Autumn and Morgan.

Autumn

Honor Attendant

Ashley's oldest daughter, Autumn, will be walking her down the aisle. She's mostly excited about wearing a pretty dress and eating cake! Autumn is sweet, sassy, and a sensitive soul. She's incredibly shy until she knows you better; after that, watch out! She loves all animals, from lions to worms. She's also more athletic than Ashley ever hoped to be, and is frequently flipping and cartwheeling around the house.

Morgan

Flower Girl

Ashley's youngest daughter Morgan will be our flower girl. She loves having Alex as a new Bonus Dad, even though she does get confused when he changes the cartoons to Spanish audio! Morgan's favorite things are following her sister around, eating fruit snacks, and Elmo. Her current weird quirk is sleeping with books, even though she's three years old and can't read.

Alicia

Maid of Honor

Alicia has known Ashley since 1988, when Ashley suddenly appeared in her house as a crying baby and Alicia was no longer the youngest child. Alicia is known as Aunt Kiki to Autumn and Morgan, and is over at our house frequently enough that the guest bedroom is dubbed "Kiki's Room," no matter who's staying over. She's also the unofficial handy-woman of our house. If something is attached to our walls or windows, chances are Alicia put it there! Ashley and Alicia have the same taste in books, and support each other by recommending cheesy romance books to each other, no matter how much the other siblings make fun of them.

Joey

Best Man

Joey and Alex met while working in the Deli at Marsh. Due to Alex's extreme awkwardness they did not immediately hit it off and become best friends. At some point Joey invited Alex over to an event. Alex was wary because the address that was given to him sounded completely fake. Joey is one of Alex's best friends. He is someone that Alex can talk with about anything or sit in a room in silence just watching football or whatever sport is on television at the time. Over the years Joey and his family have become a second family to Alex. Joey is less of a best friend and more of a fourth brother.

Emily

Bridesmaid

Emily is the eldest Harris sibling. In the formative years of Ashley's childhood, the two shared a bedroom and giant loft bed with a "creative nerd cave" below. In this creative nerd cave, the two used a Windows 95 computer on its last leg to write fanfiction, create a comic book series that will never see the light of day, and play Snake. If you're wondering, Ashley is better at Snake, and the proof lies in the High Score Log of the aforementioned dead Windows 95 computer. For some reason, cool High Schooler Emily let lame Junior High Ashley tag along with her almost constantly. She even skipped her Senior prom to take Ashley to the movies to see Chicago.

Ian

Best Man

Ian is the sibling that, on several occasions, Alex unsuccessfully attempted to ship back to his place of birth (somewhere in Guam). Growing up, Ian and Alex were almost always at war with each other, with the occasional cease fires and/or alliances. Almost all of these acts of violence were one sided as Alex refused to commit vulgar acts such as chasing a sibling around with a knife or throwing a screwdriver at his brother's head. As years went by the fighting lessened and has almost stopped completely. Both Ian and Alex grew up and became slightly more mature. Ian met Kathleen and together they brought into the world the cutest niece that Alex could ever ask for. As an Uncle, Alex wishes the best for his beautiful and amazing niece Mali, but mostly he hopes that he does not have to die in order to be her tragic backstory and become Spider-Woman.

Priscilla

Bridesmaid

Priscilla was Ashley's randomly assigned roommate their Freshman year of college. The first words out of Priscilla's mouth when they met were "Oh my God! You're short!" Her mother was mortified, but Ashley understands the excitement that occurs when a short person meets an even shorter person, so no offense was taken. The two became inseparable. Priscilla, the extrovert to Ashley's introvert, introduced Ashley to the majority of the friends Ashley still has today. Priscilla is one of those friends who will roast you the worst you've ever been roasted, but will then drop anything to be there when you need her.

Josiah

Groomsman

Josiah is the eldest McWilliams child. He is by far the most outgoing of the McWilliams children. He has the ability to speak and get to know anyone that he meets. He is rather candid and was either born without a filter or lost it at some point of his life, so Josiah wins the award for "Most Likely to be Censored in Wedding Videos." There is a four and half year age difference between Josiah and Alex. The two did not have much of a relationship growing up, or at least according to Alex's recollection. Then again, this could be due to the malicious act of hitting Alex in the head with a baseball. The doctors at the hospital estimated that the baseball reached speeds of 130 miles per hour. Or at least this is what Alex remembers. There are people that were not present at the time of the malicious act that may attempt to tell you that Alex was only hit in the head with the baseball due to his mistake of moving his glove after Josiah threw the ball, but those are lies and slander. In all honesty though Alex is extremely pleased to have Josiah as a part of his wedding party as it would not be the same without him.

Jessica

Bridesmaid

Jessica and Ashley met on the playground on the first day of 3rd grade. Ashley had just moved to a new school and was having trouble making friends thanks to having dorky glasses and a functional brain. Jessica saw past those "flaws" and asked Ashley to play. From that day onward, Ashley and Jessica were besties. They had frequent sleepovers and were considered extra family members at each other's houses. As teenagers, they spent many crazy evenings aimlessly driving around Lafayette, hyper on triple espressos (Yep, that's as crazy as it gets here, folks). The two no longer live close to each other, but have one of those friendships where they can go 3 months without a word, and then pick up like it was just yesterday.
