We met on the Bumble dating app in early 2021. Alex was looking for a committed relationship. Ashley was new to online dating and was looking for interesting conversation with potential serial killers. Our initial conversations showed we shared a sense of humor, so we agreed on a video call for a first date. We didn't realize it until hanging up that evening, but our video call had accidentally lasted three hours! As a cautious single mom who watches too much crime TV, Ashley put Alex through what was essentially a month-long interview process before agreeing to meet him in person, at which point we were both already--as the youth say--"catching feelings" pretty hard. Our first in-person date was at the Eiteljorg Museum in Indy, walking along the canal, and finishing up with a trip to The Cheesecake Factory and Barnes and Noble. Throughout our time dating, it was never a secret that we would end up together for the rest of our lives. So it wasn't a huge surprise when Alex dropped to his knee on Christmas morning in front of daughters Autumn and Morgan, and Ashley happily answered "Absolutely!"
